The supplementary admission score for teacher training programs is nearly 29 points.
In 2024, despite a sharp increase in the number of applicants for teacher training programs and extremely high cutoff scores, many universities are still conducting supplementary admissions, with some programs having supplementary admission scores as high as 28.58 points.

Hong Duc University ( Thanh Hoa ) is conducting supplementary admissions for 31 majors, including 6 teacher training programs. The History - Geography Teacher Training program has a minimum admission score of 28.58 points with 2 available slots.
Several other teacher training programs at the university also have high supplementary admission cutoff scores, such as Primary Education (28.42 points), Mathematics Education (26.28 points), Preschool Education (26.2 points), and Natural Science Education (25.75 points).
Northwest University is conducting supplementary admissions for 8 teacher training programs. The highest minimum admission score is for Literature Teacher Training at 28.11 points; followed by History Teacher Training at 28 points; and Geography Teacher Training at 27.96 points.
Hue University of Education is recruiting an additional 110 students through three methods: reviewing academic transcripts, high school graduation exam scores in 2024, and using the results of the competency assessment test.
Using the method of considering high school graduation exam scores, the school is recruiting 68 students, with minimum admission scores ranging from 19 to 27.37 points. The highest score is for the History and Geography Education major, with an admission score based on high school graduation exam scores starting from 27.37 and high school academic transcript scores from 26.8. Details are as follows:

Quang Nam University is conducting supplementary admissions for 3 teacher training programs, with 1-4 places available for each program. The highest-scoring program is Literature Teacher Training with 25.74 points.
The trend of increasing use of private examinations.
While many universities are conducting supplementary admissions for teacher training programs, Hanoi University of Education 2 has announced plans to organize an aptitude test for admission starting in 2025.
A school representative stated that the school is currently in the process of developing and finalizing a plan for organizing this exam. It is expected to be a competency-based test.
Previously, Hanoi University of Education and Ho Chi Minh City University of Education organized their own entrance exams along with other admission methods. In particular, the 2024 aptitude test organized by Hanoi University of Education was recognized and used by 9 universities for university admissions.
Besides the teacher training sector, there are currently more than 10 institutions and universities nationwide that organize their own entrance exams.
Separate entrance exams are seen as creating more opportunities for students applying to universities. This is also considered a general trend; however, many argue that the rapid increase in separate exams puts more pressure on students. Many students are confused about which exams to participate in to achieve high results.
Speaking to a reporter from Dai Doan Ket Newspaper about this issue, Associate Professor Dr. Nghiem Dinh Vy - former Rector of Hanoi Pedagogical University - said that there should not be too many separate entrance exams in the future.
In recent admission seasons, teacher training programs have seen a significant improvement in enrollment, with high admission scores compared to many other training programs. This is encouraging, but according to Associate Professor Nghiêm Đình Vỳ, admission scores do not accurately reflect the quality of incoming students because high scores depend on many factors.
Instead of each school organizing its own exam, Associate Professor Dr. Nghiem Dinh Vy suggested: "Schools should cooperate with each other, organizing a separate exam by cluster, by subject area, creating uniformity in admissions. This way, the separate exam will have a rich question bank, ensuring fairness and quality."
Currently, more than 10 universities and institutions nationwide organize their own entrance exams. Among them, the aptitude tests of Hanoi National University, Ho Chi Minh City National University, and the thinking skills test of Hanoi University of Science and Technology attract a large number of participants, and many universities use the exam results for admissions.
In the field of teacher training, the competency assessment exams of Hanoi University of Education and Ho Chi Minh City University of Education are recognized by many universities and their results are used for university admissions.
