A series of universities, from prestigious public ones such as: Hanoi National University; Hanoi University of Science and Technology; Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology... to private ones such as: Phenikaa University; Saigon International University,.. the tuition fee for this major at these schools ranges from 10 million - 80 million VND/school year, not including living expenses, learning materials, practical courses in English...
Specifically, Hanoi University of Science and Technology There are 2 majors, direct training major and related training majors in the field of semiconductor microchips. In which, the microchip design major belongs to the field of telecommunications electronics engineering and the field of microelectronics engineering and nanotechnology will be newly opened by Hanoi University of Science and Technology from 2023.
Currently, the school applies tuition fees of 24 - 30 million VND/school year for these majors, applicable to full-time university students enrolling in 2024 (K69) and studying the standard program.
Hanoi University of Science and Technology notes that the above tuition fees may be adjusted for the following school years, but not increase by more than 10% per year.
Similarly, the University of Technology (Ho Chi Minh City National University) also enrolls students in the Microchip Design major in the standard program. In 2025, the school plans to enroll students in this major in the English-taught program with 40 quotas.
If studying the standard program, the tuition fee for this major in 2025-2026 is expected to be 30 million VND/school year. Meanwhile, the tuition fee for the program taught and learned in English is 80 million VND.

Three schools under the Vietnam National University, Hanoi are also "at the forefront" of the wave of training in semiconductor microchips. At the University of Technology , three out of four new majors planned to be opened are related to the semiconductor industry: Data Science (Data Science and Engineering program), Electronic and Telecommunications Engineering Technology oriented towards Microchip Design, and Materials Technology (Material Technology and Microelectronics program).
Recently, Vietnam-Japan University (Vietnam National University, Hanoi) announced that it will enroll the first course of the Semiconductor Chip Technology training program in 2025, with a target of 100 students.
According to the school representative, these majors aim to serve the need for high-quality human resources, meeting the strong development of technology and the digital economy. As with the semiconductor industry, the Government is prioritizing development, considering this a key field to participate deeply in the global supply chain. Tuition for the semiconductor chip industry is 58,000,000 VND/year, collected by semester, with two semesters per year.
Saigon International University also enrolls students in the standard program of microchip design. Candidates can apply for admission based on their 12th grade transcripts, 2025 high school graduation exam scores, Ho Chi Minh City National University's competency assessment scores, or direct admission according to regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training.
Saigon International University has not announced tuition fees for the 2025-2026 school year. But in the previous school year, tuition fees for the Microchip Design major at this school were nearly 30 million VND/semester.
In 2025, Hanoi National University of Education will open 5 new majors, of which Physics (Semiconductor Physics and Engineering) will receive the attention of many candidates.
Although the school has not officially announced the annual tuition fee, like previous school years, the school's collection is around 10 million VND/school year.
Semiconductor tuition fees at some universities are as follows:
STT | School | Branch | Tuition |
1 | Hanoi University of Science and Technology | Microelectronics and Nanotechnology | 22-28 million VND/year |
2 | Saigon International University | Circuit design | 30 million VND/year |
