ST Son Thach and the music night we can't wait for
On the evening of July 20th, ST Son Thach held a concert in Ho Chi Minh City. The concert couldn't be postponed due to the eager anticipation of his fans. However, ST would appear tactless if he allowed the concert's hype to spread in a boisterous manner, especially considering the tragic accident that just occurred in Ha Long.
As an artist, ST couldn't help but be concerned about his surroundings. Ultimately, the concert went ahead on the condition that "ST hopes you won't post any information on social media."
Today, we are here to cherish these beautiful memories together. But we will keep them in our hearts, avoiding the usual noise and commotion. ST is grateful that you came, and together we share the loss with those less fortunate in the recent accident."
Along with sharing her story, ST decided to donate a portion of her performance fee to the Quang Ninh Provincial Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front to help those in need following the recent accident.
ST Son Thach: Two decades of breakthroughs, conquering peaks, and establishing its name!
Previously, many people found it "annoying" that ST tried to prove himself as ST Son Thach instead of just using the name ST that everyone was familiar with. ST's statements that "ST doesn't want people to misunderstand ST as someone else" were also relevant. ST is also the name of Son Tung M-TP, but ST having to correct and change his name from ST Son Thach to ST seemed unnecessary to many.
But ST remained steadfast in his stance, and thus ST Son Thach replaced his old stage name with ST. Many people's questions stemmed from their intuitive and emotional perceptions. However, if one interacts with ST, they will understand that the change of stage name also originated from kindness.
ST is not a complacent artist, nor is he someone who accepts being manipulated by others. ST is a perfectionist and ambitious. But ST's path is not reckless because of his pursuit of personal growth.
ST took a slow approach, focusing on self-improvement and winning over the audience. After nearly two decades of hard work, perhaps it's time for ST to reap the rewards, commensurate with all the effort he's put in.
ST captivated the audience with their concert.
ST's concert truly captivated the audience, especially those who had previously "doubted" his abilities. Although he was once an idol singer as a member of the group 365, ST never truly shone as he had hoped, overshadowed by the other members' fame. His solo career also hasn't made a strong impact because he hasn't yet found hit songs that resonate with the mainstream audience.
Until his participation in "Brother Overcoming a Thousand Obstacles," ST had somewhat won over even the most discerning audience. He may not be the most outstanding talent, but he is someone who always strives to contribute. And at the concert on July 20th, ST proved that he also possesses the added advantage of skillfully crafting his own concert.
As one of the singers transitioning between the peak of the Vietnamese music market and the completely changing market with the emergence of young singers, young audiences, and music with many changes, ST seemed to have few choices. Music that was too new wasn't suitable, while music that was too old wasn't his forte.
But during the concert, ST decided to perform familiar songs from the "Green Wave" era, such as "Tình thôi xót xa," "Những lời mê hoặc," "Biển cạn," "Lại gần hôn anh," "Bức thư tình," and "Let me feel your love tonight"... The audience (not die-hard fans) were satisfied with ST's singing. It was a wise choice in a music market with somewhat inconsistent quality like today .
The golden age of Vietnamese music deserves a revival, and the person who brings about that revival deserves to be rewarded. ST is one of those people. A new arrangement, a new interpretation based on the perfectly polished foundation of old hits – that's a wise choice.
