A meaningful day in Bom Bo

On June 3rd, in Bu Dang district (Binh Phuoc province), a delegation from the Vietnam Journalists Association, led by Vice President Tran Trong Dung, carried out many meaningful activities to respond to the "Tree Planting Festival in memory of President Ho Chi Minh"; World Environment Day on June 5th, as well as to celebrate Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day on June 21st.

At the Bu Lach grassland ( Dong Nai commune, Bu Dang district), the delegation, along with leaders from various departments, agencies, and localities, participated in planting 3,300 golden teak trees on an area of ​​3.4 hectares of forest, with a budget of 200 million VND, including seedlings and care costs for a period of 4 years.

The delegation donated cows to poor households in Bu Dang district.

In addition, the Vietnam Journalists Association mobilized businesses to donate 5 cows, worth a total of 65 million VND, to 5 impoverished households in the area; and donated 2 solar-powered lighting devices to the Bu Dang Protective Forest Management Board.

Next, the delegation visited Bom Bo village, Binh Minh commune, where the "Proud of the National Flag" program of Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper presented 5,000 national flags as part of the "National Flag Road" component to the local people.

The 5,000 national flags presented on this occasion are part of the 15,000 flags that the Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper donated to Binh Phuoc province on the afternoon of June 2nd during the meeting and information exchange program between the leaders of Binh Phuoc province and press agencies.

Leaders of the Vietnam Journalists Association, media agencies, and local authorities participated in the ceremony of presenting the national flag to the people.

At the same time, the "Scholarship Program to Support Ethnic Minority and Poor Students," founded by Mr. Truong Hoa Binh, former Politburo Member, former Standing Deputy Prime Minister, and Honorary Chairman of the "Proud of the National Flag" Program, and managed by the Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper, also awarded 35 scholarships, each worth 2 million VND, to poor but studious students. Previously, on June 2nd, the Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper awarded 15 scholarships to students in Dong Xoai City, Binh Phuoc Province.

At the ceremony, Mr. To Dinh Tuan, Editor-in-Chief of Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper, said that Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper is honored to accompany the Vietnam Journalists Association in carrying out meaningful and humane activities in Binh Phuoc province in general, as well as in Bu Dang district and Bom Bo commune in particular.

And we provide scholarships to students from disadvantaged backgrounds.

On this occasion, students in Bom Bo commune also received 100 cartons of milk donated by businesses through the efforts of the delegation.

According to Mr. Tran Trong Dung, Vice President of the Vietnam Journalists Association, this is the first time the Vietnam Journalists Association has coordinated with central and Ho Chi Minh City press agencies to organize such a practical and meaningful program. "This activity not only contributes to social welfare, environmental protection, and strengthens connections and promotes information dissemination for Binh Phuoc – a province in the Southeast region still facing many difficulties – but also further strengthens the solidarity and camaraderie among colleagues from Ho Chi Minh City and central press agencies," Mr. Dung emphasized.
