Two patients with severe burns are Mr. LVN and Mr. PVL (both residing in Tan An commune). Upon admission, both patients suffered extensive burns to their heads, faces, necks, arms, and legs, covering approximately 38% of their bodies. Significantly, their condition worsened because, after being burned, the patients had poured gasoline on the affected areas, causing the burns to become deeper and more severe.

Upon taking the medical history, it was revealed that the two patients had used a gas cylinder to roast dog meat. During the process, because the gas cylinder was placed too close to the flame, when the valve was opened, the flames shot directly onto them.
Upon admission, doctors in the Surgery Department of Tan Ky Medical Center immediately provided emergency care, treated the burns according to professional protocols, and closely monitored the patient to minimize dangerous complications.
To avoid similar accidents, people should absolutely not use gas cylinders to burn or roast food; not place gas cylinders near charcoal stoves, open flames, or places with high temperatures; and not handle gas cylinders without ensuring proper safety procedures.
Doctors advise: When someone is burned, victims and their families should absolutely not apply gasoline, oil, fish sauce, or toothpaste to the burn wound as this will cause infection and skin necrosis; the injured area should be cooled with clean water for 15-20 minutes, and then the victim should be taken to the nearest medical facility as soon as possible.
