"Poor" but value memories

Singer Phuong My Chi is touring schools across all three regions of Vietnam.

At a presentation about the "Crane Universe" School Tour project held on the afternoon of August 20th, singer Phuong My Chi announced that the project includes a series of concerts by Phuong My Chi at high schools and universities across three major cities nationwide: Hanoi , Da Nang, and Ho Chi Minh City.

"I am passionate about this project as a gift to students. As a young person who loves traditional culture, I want to convey more of the beauty and values ​​of culture. I want to spread Vietnamese music and national identity to Vietnamese and international audiences, especially young people," Phương Mỹ Chi shared.

The School Tour "Crane Universe" 2024 will take place in three locations: Hanoi (September 21-22), Da Nang (October 5-6), and Ho Chi Minh City (October 19-20), with each performance lasting approximately two hours.

The opening night was held on September 22nd at the University of Foreign Languages ​​(Hanoi). The tour's stops in Da Nang and Ho Chi Minh City are being kept secret and will be announced on the company's official website.

Fans are excited, eager, and looking forward to Phuong My Chi's upcoming grand event.

Despite the company investing 10 billion VND in the tour, Phuong My Chi doesn't want to sell tickets to student audiences. According to her, what she wants are beautiful memories with her fans. Furthermore, "I'm still a student, so I understand that buying concert tickets is difficult right now. Once you graduate and start working, you can buy tickets to support me later. But for now, even though I'm still poor, beautiful memories are what matter most to me."

At 20 years old, but with 10 years of professional experience, Phuong My Chi has marked her 10th anniversary with an album that demonstrates the spirit of a young artist who loves traditional culture while keeping up with the changes of the times – something to be proud of.

"2023 was a time that taught me many things: responsibility to the audience, my teammates, myself, patience, gratitude, accepting disappointments and overcoming them strongly. The acceptance and support of the audience will give me more motivation to carry out the School Tour 2024 project," - Phuong My Chi said.

The music in School Tour 2024 will include both old songs from the album "Crane Universe" and completely new songs. The four songs are: "Lượm", "Buôn trăng", "Con cò và mặt trời", and "Rock hạt gạo". All songs are compositions by Phương Mỹ Chi and the DTAP group, still taking titles from literary works and traditional Vietnamese cultural elements, representing a fusion of traditional and modern musical styles.

The four songs maintain the overall spirit of the album and the School Tour "Crane Universe," continuing the literary and artistic narratives to make "Crane Universe" more complete and impressive.

When asked about the difficulties in researching the cultural characteristics of each region to incorporate into the music for the School Tour performances, Phuong My Chi said: "The three regions of North, Central, and South Vietnam always have incredibly unique cultural features. The more I learn, the more I feel love, pride, and motivation to learn and cultivate the cultural aspects of each region, trying to convey those beautiful values ​​through music."
