Man in Quang Binh fires six shots to intimidate others.
Initially, Quy spoke very "emotionally" about their friendship, but the victim believed the suspect was making up a story.
At 5:15 PM on May 12th, Nguyen Duc Quy (born in 1983, residing in Tho Don Hamlet, Quang Tho Ward, Ba Don Town, Quang Binh Province) drove a car with license plate 73A-186.70 carrying a gun to the house of Ms. Nguyen Thi Phuc Hien (born in 1983) and her husband, Phan Co Vich (born in 1983, residing in Ba Don Town, Quang Binh Province).
Nguyen Duc Quy at the Ba Don Town Police Station, Quang Binh Province.
Upon entering the living room, Quy encountered Hien's husband, Phan Co Vich. Seeing Quy looking for his wife, Vich went to the door and said that his wife was at work and not home. Hearing this, Quy went inside, picked up his gun, and fired four shots in quick succession at the walls inside the house.
Then, Quy hugged and pinned Vich down, holding a gun to Vich's head with his right hand, while threatening to shoot him. Quy pushed Vich away, fired another shot at the wall of the house, and then went to each room in the house looking for Hien but couldn't find her.
Hearing the gunshots, Vích's parents came down from the second floor to hug Quý and try to stop him, but Quý continued to curse and threaten Vích's parents with the gun. After a while, Quý left the car and walked home with the gun. Shortly afterward, Quý was arrested by the police in Ba Đồn town, Quảng Bình province, for investigation.
The gunman fired five shots, causing chaos in the residential area.
At the police station, Quy initially stated that the reason for his violation was due to being emotionally agitated because Hien kept calling him demanding 27 million VND for construction materials, while Quy had purchased all the materials for his house, which cost nearly ten billion VND, from Hien and her husband.
Quy also stated that Hien and her husband were close friends from childhood, often sharing their difficulties in life. Quy had bought land from Hien and her husband, and when the land's value increased two to three times, seeing the couple arguing over the loss of the land, Quy intended to return the land and only ask for the original price back…
Many of the debt collection messages from Ms. Hien and her husband were gentle.
After working with the Ba Don town police and speaking with reporters, Ms. Nguyen Thi Phuc Hien affirmed that Nguyen Duc Quy's initial statements were untrue.
Hien and her husband, Quy, were childhood friends, but not close enough to share their daily life difficulties as Quy claimed. Hien and her husband had never bought or sold land with Quy. When Quy built his house, Hien and her husband sold building materials to the construction contractor, not directly to Quy, and all costs were settled between both parties.
Later, Quy bought more materials and owed Ms. Hien and her husband 25.7 million VND. Ms. Hien called and sent gentle messages many times to demand payment, but Quy kept making excuses and not paying, which led to the conflict. Ms. Hien also provided the reporter with many text messages and audio recordings of conversations with Quy about the debt. In the messages and conversations, Quy used abusive and vulgar language…
The case is currently being investigated and handled by the Ba Don Town Police Department in accordance with the law.
