Current status of the road subsidence in Ba Dinh hamlet, Dinh Binh commune ( Ca Mau City). The square drainage culvert opening has suffered serious erosion, the road surface is severely damaged, posing a potential risk of traffic accidents, especially at night (photo taken on May 15, 2025).
According to observations, the section of road that has subsided is approximately 2 meters wide and 1.5 meters long, located right at the mouth of a square drainage culvert.
At night, the area is very dark due to a lack of streetlights, making it difficult for road users to spot hazards.
To warn others, people used trees and banana tree vines as temporary barriers.
Mr. NVY, a resident living near the area, said: "We have repeatedly complained to the local authorities, but so far there has been no sign of repairs. Every time we pass through this section of road, we are afraid."
"At night, the road is pitch black with no lights, making accidents very likely. We hope the authorities will fix this soon to ensure the safety of the people," said Ms. Tr.TN, a small business owner who frequently travels this road, expressing her frustration.

Another resident, Mr. LTQ, said: "We have used our own money to buy materials to make temporary barriers, but that's only a temporary solution. Government intervention is needed to fix the problem permanently."
It is thought that delays in resolving the issue not only affect people's daily lives but also compromise traffic safety.
Local authorities need to quickly inspect and assess the extent of the damage and implement timely repair plans to ensure the safety of people and vehicles on the road.
