Current status of the subsidence location of the road section in Ba Dinh hamlet, Dinh Binh commune ( Ca Mau city). The square manhole is seriously eroded, the road surface is severely damaged, posing a potential risk of traffic accidents, especially at night (photo taken on May 15, 2025).
According to records, the collapsed area is about 2 m wide and 1.5 m long, located right at the mouth of the square drain.
At night, this area is very dark due to lack of street lights, making it difficult for road users to detect danger.
To warn, people used trees and banana vines as temporary obstacles.
Mr. NVY, a resident living near the area, said: "We have reported to the local authorities many times, but so far there has been no sign of any repairs. Every time we pass this road, we are scared."
"At night, the road is dark and has no lights, making it very easy for accidents to happen. We hope the government will fix it soon to ensure people's safety," said Ms. Tr.TN, a merchant who regularly passes through this road.
At the subsidence site, people had to use trees and banana vines as barriers to warn while waiting for authorities to fix the problem. (Photo taken on May 15, 2025)
Another resident, Mr. LTQ, said: "We have spent our own money to buy materials to make temporary barriers, but that is only a temporary solution. There needs to be intervention from the government to fix it permanently."
I think that the delay in troubleshooting not only affects people's lives but also causes traffic insecurity.
Local authorities need to quickly inspect, assess the extent of damage and promptly deploy repair plans to ensure safety for people and vehicles./.
