The guardian of the Lion and Dragon dance spirit.
Since ancient times, lion heads were simply handcrafted for children to play with during the Mid-Autumn Festival. Through generations, even as modern life has brought countless new toys, the traditional lion head still holds a special place in the hearts of every Vietnamese person. It is not merely a toy, but also a symbol of faith, of aspirations for peace and prosperity.
In Thai Nguyen , only a few establishments still preserve the traditional craft of making lion dance heads by hand. Among them, the establishment of Mr. Doan Thanh Tung, Head of Long Nghia Martial Arts School, located in Group 54, Phan Dinh Phung Ward, is considered the only place that produces handcrafted lion and dragon dance heads on a commercial scale, distributing products throughout and outside the province.
