Connecting for workers
Having worked at Seafood Joint Stock Company No. 9 ( Ho Chi Minh City) for nearly 10 years, in April 2025, Mr. Le Van Hoang (37 years old, in Bac Nha Trang ward) quit his job and returned to his hometown to be closer to his family. After quitting his job, he registered for unemployment benefits of more than 3 million VND per month. The monthly allowance was not enough to cover living expenses, making life difficult for Mr. Hoang's family. Understanding Mr. Hoang's wishes, the Provincial Employment Service Center proactively connected with a number of businesses operating in the field of seafood processing in the province that were in need of recruiting workers to create job opportunities for Mr. Hoang. Through the center's connection, Mr. Hoang was recruited to work at Hai Vuong Company Limited. Mr. Hoang said: “I am very happy to be found and connected with a new job that suits my wishes by the Provincial Employment Service Center. After more than 1 month of working at Hai Vuong Company Limited, I found that this is a company with a safe working environment, monthly income of more than 10 million VND; welfare regimes, shuttle bus, meals, labor protection... are guaranteed by the company. I will try to work hard and stick with the company for a long time”…
Receive, process procedures and provide new job counseling support for employees registering for unemployment benefits at the Provincial Employment Service Center. |
Mr. Hoang is one of hundreds of workers who registered for unemployment benefits in the province and have been connected to new jobs by the Provincial Employment Service Center. According to Mr. Nguyen Thanh Xuan - Deputy Director of the Provincial Employment Service Center, since the beginning of the year, more than 11,398 workers have registered for unemployment benefits in the province (including Ninh Thuan province before the merger). After receiving procedures and records, the center has compiled statistics and classified labor groups by professional qualifications, age, aspirations, etc. to provide counseling, vocational training support, and job connection for all workers. Thereby, it has successfully connected new jobs according to the wishes of more than 500 workers. At the same time, the unit also provided vocational training counseling to all workers who registered for unemployment benefits, through which nearly 200 people have participated and have decided to be supported in vocational training according to their wishes to switch to new jobs.
Enhance solutions
According to a survey by the Provincial Employment Service Center, the main reasons for unemployment among employees are: Expiration of labor contracts, work contracts, or the two parties agree to terminate the labor contracts, work contracts before the deadline; the enterprise organizes dissolution, bankruptcy, changes its structure; employees unilaterally terminate labor contracts, work contracts illegally and other reasons... 70% of employees who register for unemployment benefits are of working age. This is a source of labor that many businesses need because they have experience in the job. Therefore, in addition to ensuring unemployment benefits for employees, the Provincial Employment Service Center always focuses on connecting new jobs so that employees can return to the labor market soon, contributing to the supply of human resources for businesses. However, the successful job connection for the number of employees who registered for unemployment benefits in the past time is still limited.
Mr. Nguyen Thanh Xuan said that after the merger, the unit will focus on perfecting the apparatus and organization. At the same time, focus on innovating and improving the quality of consulting, introducing and connecting jobs for employees in many forms. In particular, applying information technology in receiving and handling procedures and documents to ensure subsidy regimes for employees registering for unemployment benefits; proactively surveying the recruitment needs of enterprises, from job positions, salaries, and benefits to advise and connect jobs for employees; surveying the job and vocational training needs of each employee registering for unemployment benefits. In addition, increasing the organization of direct and online job transaction sessions to connect labor supply and demand, organizing online interviews to support employees to register for unemployment to have the opportunity to access businesses; promoting propaganda in many forms so that employees can grasp information and search for jobs, register for vocational training to change jobs.
It is forecasted that in the coming time, the demand for labor recruitment in the province will increase from 5 to 10%, especially in the electronics, mechanics, logistics and food processing industries. Meanwhile, unskilled labor tends to be scarce due to rapid urbanization, competition from other provinces and cities and the trend of shifting jobs to the service sector. Therefore, the Provincial Employment Service Center continues to coordinate with sectors to monitor and grasp the labor and employment situation in the province to have timely and effective support solutions, contributing to ensuring jobs, income and stabilizing the lives of workers, limiting unemployment; communicating so that workers clearly understand their rights and obligations when participating in unemployment insurance; enhancing career counseling and career transition orientation for workers, etc.
