On August 15th, the City Children's Hospital announced that it had admitted and treated a 26-month-old girl, HCT, from Tay Ninh province, who had suffered a serious accident.
According to the medical history, two hours before admission, the mother was driving the child home on a scooter. Upon arriving home, the mother got off the scooter but left the engine running. The little girl, sitting in front, accidentally grabbed the throttle, causing the scooter to crash into the iron gate.
The accident caused the child's face to hit the fence, and her stomach and chest to hit the front of the car. There was significant bleeding around her eyes and lips. Her family immediately took her to the City Children's Hospital.

At this time, the child was conscious, responsive, but panicked. The doctor examined the child and noted complex injuries to the left eye, a torn eyelid, and a torn lip. Imaging results showed no damage to the eyeball, no intracranial injury, minor lung contusion, and no internal organ damage.
Immediately afterward, the child's wounds were stopped from bleeding, tetanus serum and vaccine were administered, and the wounds on the eyelids and lips were sutured. After 5 days of treatment, the child's condition gradually improved, the wounds were clean and dry, and vision in both eyes returned to normal.
Doctors warn that parents need to fasten seat belts when carrying young children on motorcycles. If the child is sitting in the front seat, a cushion should be placed under the headrest to prevent impact. When stopping and getting off the motorcycle, parents must turn off the engine and take the child down with them to avoid serious accidents.
