At the VT Calligraphy Training Center (District 12, Ho Chi Minh City), nearly 10 adults arrive every afternoon to practice their handwriting. According to Ms. Tran Thi Thanh Trinh, a teacher at the center, nowadays not only young children preparing for primary school but also many older adults come to practice their handwriting. Most of the older students are preschool and primary school teachers who want to improve their handwriting for teaching. In addition, some parents also register so they can teach their children their handwriting.
Besides the main purpose of improving their handwriting, some students say that through these handwriting practice sessions, they learn patience and meticulousness in their work. Some students did not have the opportunity to attend school when they were young, so when they started practicing handwriting, they had to relearn the alphabet.
As a preschool teacher, Ms. Huynh Thi (Tan Phu District, Ho Chi Minh City) expressed: "I've been studying for over a month now, and my handwriting has improved, but I still need to practice more at home. Previously, my handwriting was decent, but I still wanted to take extra classes to improve my professional skills. For preschool teachers, besides pedagogical ability, handwriting is also very important. A teacher's beautiful handwriting is a 'plus point' that reassures parents when they send their children to school."

In calligraphy classes, many adults diligently practice their handwriting.
In many places in Ho Chi Minh City, the tuition fee for a handwriting training course for adults ranges from 900,000 to 1.5 million VND. Specifically, VT Handwriting Training Center charges 900,000 VND/course, VG Handwriting Training Center (Go Vap District) charges 1.5 million VND, AL Handwriting Training Center (District 10) charges 1.5 million VND, etc. For elementary school children, the tuition fee for handwriting training is more affordable, ranging from 500,000 to 1.5 million VND/course. On average, a handwriting training course lasts from 10-12 sessions, with 2-3 sessions per week.
According to Dr. Tran Long, Head of the Department of Vietnamese Culture, Faculty of Cultural Studies, University of Social Sciences and Humanities - Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City, it is an undeniable fact that typewriters and computers cannot be used in all written communication activities. To achieve the highest communication effectiveness, in addition to choosing words, many people must choose an appropriate writing style, with the first criterion being clarity and aesthetics.
"This explains why, in the 4.0 era, when keyboard typing is gradually replacing handwriting, many people, including adults, still go to centers to practice beautiful handwriting," Dr. Tran Long observed.
