On July 29th, information from Can Tho Central General Hospital indicated that they had successfully performed surgery on a female patient who was hit in the head by a bullet while gardening.
Earlier, on the afternoon of July 28th, while gardening at home, Ms. DTKT (40 years old, residing in Can Tho City) was unexpectedly struck by a hard, marble-like object that flew towards her and lodged in the back of her head.
The victim's family brought him to the emergency room at Can Tho Central General Hospital with a wound on the occipital region of his head, approximately 1cm long. Next to the wound was a hard, round mass, like a bullet, measuring about 0.5x0.5cm.

After examination and consultation, the doctors determined that the object was a metallic foreign body resembling a bullet, so they deployed a surgical team. After about 45 minutes of surgery, the bullet was successfully removed. Fortunately, the bullet only penetrated the skin and lightly touched the occipital bone, causing no serious damage to the brain or nerve structures.
Currently, patient T. is conscious, responsive, the surgical wound is dry, and no focal neurological symptoms have been observed.
Authorities are investigating and clarifying the origin of the bullet, as well as the reason it struck the victim in the head.
