Born and raised in Yen Dong (Yen Lac), a land rich in a tradition of academic excellence, Mr. Le Hong Quan's passion for teaching stemmed from his early childhood love of mathematics. As a young student, Le Hong Quan was always captivated and fascinated by numbers, rules, and geometry. This passion was nurtured and spread, becoming a guiding principle in his chosen educational career.
Having spent over two decades teaching, Mr. Quan has been both a teacher and a companion to generations of students. In every lesson, he demonstrates enthusiasm in his teaching, attentive gaze, and meticulously prepared lesson plans. He constantly innovates his expertise, always updating and utilizing active teaching methods. Particularly in the context of rapid digital transformation, he is a pioneer in applying information technology software such as PowerPoint, E-learning, and learning management software to enhance teaching effectiveness.
But what's most impressive about Mr. Quan is his ability to inspire and instill a love of mathematics in his students. Each lesson is connected to real life, using relatable examples, stories about great mathematicians, or everyday situations that can be solved using logical thinking.
Mr. Quan always strives to make mathematics less dry, more interesting, and more accessible to his students; he focuses on classifying students according to their abilities, thereby building a suitable learning path to awaken the spirit of self-learning and self-confidence in each student. More than just a knowledge transmitter, Mr. Quan is also a connector and empathizer of his students. For students from disadvantaged backgrounds, he, along with homeroom teachers and parents, finds ways to support them so they can continue attending school and learn in a loving and fair environment, in line with the humanistic principles of education.
Teacher Quan also devotes much of his energy to nurturing gifted students. The image of the teacher diligently preparing and tutoring students, meticulously working under the lamplight on lesson plans and exam preparation materials, or kindly chatting with and encouraging each student, further enhances the beauty and nobility of the teacher.
In the last five years, Mr. Quan has mentored hundreds of students who have won awards in the district and provincial-level excellent student competitions; more than 100 students have won medals from the Violympic Math competitions in Vietnamese and English, and the National Math Talent Search, contributing to making Yen Lac Secondary School's Math subject the top in the province for many years.
In particular, during the 2023-2024 school year, Mr. Quan mentored two students who won first prize in the provincial-level Mathematics Olympiad. Both were subsequently admitted directly to the High School for Gifted Students in Natural Sciences , Vietnam National University, Hanoi, for the 2024-2025 school year. 80% of the students in the team taught by Mr. Quan passed the entrance exam to Vinh Phuc Specialized High School, including the twin sisters Hoang Nguyen Trang and Hoang Nhu Trang, who became the top and second-highest scorers in the 10th grade entrance exam for Vinh Phuc Specialized High School in the 2024-2025 school year.
Pham Minh Hoang, a former student of Yen Lac Secondary School, said: "Since entering secondary school, under the guidance and teaching of Mr. Quan, I have become increasingly passionate about mathematics. He not only taught me knowledge and ignited my passion, but also instilled in me carefulness, perseverance, and determination in my studies to achieve my goals. Currently, I continue to invest in my passion for mathematics to fulfill my dream of becoming a future mathematician."

Not only is he an excellent teacher, Mr. Quan is also actively involved in research and has many innovative ideas and experiences that contribute to improving the overall quality of education at the school and in the sector, such as: "Some types of exercises in the Vietnam Mathematical Talent Search competition", "Methods for solving mathematical problems by simplifying expressions"... which are highly appreciated by colleagues and effectively applied in teaching.
Teacher Quan leads a simple and exemplary life, always setting a good example in all activities, actively building a strong Party branch and Trade Union, participating in the voluntary blood donation movement, and supporting poor students. For him, being a teacher is not just about teaching academics, but also about teaching students how to be good people through kind actions and a decent way of life.
Mr. Pham Kieu Hung, Principal of Yen Lac Secondary School, said: “Mr. Le Hong Quan is a highly skilled and experienced teacher. With his extensive knowledge, sharp pedagogical methods, innovative thinking, and dedication to his work, he has inspired many generations of students and guided them to achieve high academic results.”
For many years, Mr. Quan has been a grassroots emulation soldier, receiving numerous Certificates of Merit and Commendations from various levels and sectors. In 2025, he received a Certificate of Merit from the Prime Minister - a well-deserved reward for his more than 20 years of dedication and contribution to the education sector.
With his love for the profession and innovative spirit, Mr. Quan not only "plants knowledge" but also "plants dreams," nurturing the aspiration to reach the pinnacle of knowledge in the hearts of generations of students so that they can become useful citizens, contributing to building a stronger and more prosperous homeland and country.
