People in Thanh Hoa are gradually switching to using E10 bioethanol fuel as part of the green energy transition roadmap.
One of the most evident manifestations is the trend towards using energy-efficient appliances in homes. While previously most consumers chose products based on price, now criteria such as energy efficiency, durability, and long-term operating costs are increasingly important. Products utilizing inverter technology, LED lighting, and smart home appliances are becoming popular choices in many households.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Lan, from Hac Thanh ward, said: "Previously, my family prioritized low-cost appliances to reduce initial investment costs. However, after switching to inverter air conditioners and replacing the entire lighting system with LED lights, electricity consumption has decreased significantly. Initially, I thought this was just a solution to save on electricity bills, but after using it for a while, I realized the greater benefits: the appliances operate stably, have a long lifespan, and save costs in the long run. This makes my family willing to invest in more energy-efficient products," Ms. Lan shared.
Along with changes in household electricity consumption, the trend of using green transportation is also growing rapidly. Currently, the number of electric motorcycles and electric cars is increasing. The investment in expanding charging station infrastructure, along with improvements in battery technology, has helped to gradually overcome consumer hesitation.
Mr. Le Van Hung, from Quang Phu ward, said: "My family has been using an electric car for over a year now. After experiencing it, we found that the operating costs are low, but more importantly, green vehicles will become increasingly popular in the future. Making the change early helps us adapt faster and contributes to reducing our environmental impact."
Beyond changes in transportation choices, consumers are now more interested in clean energy sources and environmentally friendly fuels. In particular, the nationwide rollout of E10 bioethanol fuel from June 1, 2026, is attracting considerable attention. According to the Ministry of Industry and Trade 's roadmap, unleaded gasoline will be blended into E10 for use in gasoline engines nationwide, contributing to emission reduction and achieving national energy transition goals.
In many localities throughout the province, consumers have proactively sought information about this new type of fuel. Mr. Nguyen Van Thanh, from Quang Chinh commune, said: “At first, I was worried because it's a new type of fuel. However, after learning about it from the authorities and the manufacturer, I realized it's an inevitable trend. The important thing is that the fuel quality must be strictly controlled so that people can use it with peace of mind.”
Meanwhile, Ms. Le Thi Huong from Hoang Hoa commune believes that using green fuel is a shared responsibility in the context of the environment facing many pressures. “Consumers now not only care about the price but also about whether the product is environmentally friendly. If E10 gasoline ensures quality and contributes to reducing emissions, then I am willing to use it,” Ms. Huong shared.
According to the Ministry of Industry and Trade, energy transition is not just a matter for businesses or regulatory agencies, but largely depends on changes in people's consumption behavior. Recently, the Ministry has intensified efforts to promote energy conservation and efficiency; encouraged the application of energy-saving equipment, environmentally friendly transportation, and renewable energy solutions. Regarding E10 gasoline, the Ministry of Industry and Trade has also requested localities to strengthen communication, supervision, and inspection of the implementation process to ensure stable supply, fuel quality, and social consensus.
However, the transition to new energy sources still faces many challenges. Initial investment costs for some green technologies remain quite high; infrastructure for electric vehicles and renewable energy is not yet synchronized; and some people still have reservations about new products due to a lack of information or limited access to them in practice.
Nevertheless, the trend of consuming green energy is predicted to continue to grow strongly in the coming time. As awareness of energy saving, environmental protection, and sustainable development increases, consumers will play an even more important role in the energy transition process. From choosing energy-efficient appliances, using green transportation, or switching to environmentally friendly fuels, every small change in consumer behavior contributes to accelerating and sustaining the energy transition. In Thanh Hoa, the changes in people's awareness and actions show that green energy is no longer a story of the future but has become a part of present life.
