As Dai Doan Ket Newspaper reported, on the night of March 5, the "network crash" of Facebook and other platforms of Meta Group such as Messenger, Instagram,... globally caused confusion among many users.
Although Meta's series of applications were restored to normal shortly afterwards, security experts said that taking advantage of the incident, services such as account recovery, login instructions, password recovery, etc. appeared frequently. If not careful, users can easily fall into scams.
Speaking with PV of Dai Doan Ket Newspaper, Mr. Ngo Minh Hieu, security expert (National Cyber Security Monitoring Center) emphasized, be careful and do not believe in unverified information on the internet, especially fake news.
This can result in loss of money or personal information, especially when scammers offer to deposit money into fake Facebook account recovery services.
We are in a time when fraud is rampant. Criminals will not hesitate to fabricate stories, exploiting users' psychology and trust to steal accounts, passwords, and other personal information.
Therefore, the most important thing is to stay calm, do not easily trust anyone or any unclear service, to avoid falling into traps and losing money unjustly," said Mr. Hieu.
Previously, on the evening of March 5, around 10:20 p.m., a series of Facebook and Instagram users in Vietnam were simultaneously unable to log in and use these two social networks.
Regarding the incident that caused user accounts to log out for no reason, Meta has confirmed a technical error.
“We know people are having trouble accessing our services. We are working to resolve this,” Meta spokesperson Andy Stone said in a post on social media site X.
