Nguyen Xuan Son was welcomed in a unique way in the Vietnam national team.

After completing their AFC Champions League Two duties with Nam Dinh FC, Xuan Son, Van Toan and Van Vi flew back from Thailand and arrived in Viet Tri (Phu Tho) to join the Vietnam national team. The three players arrived at the exact moment the team was having dinner and were welcomed with a special “ritual”, in a happy and warm atmosphere.

The players lined up in two rows, "lovingly" hitting the three newly joined teammates.

“Newcomer” Xuan Son was also warmly welcomed. The Brazilian striker made a good impression by always holding a small national flag in his hand.

Having just returned from Thailand, Xuan Son, Van Toan and Van Vi were absent from the training session on the afternoon of December 5 of the Vietnamese team. They will have their first training session with the whole team in Laos. Tomorrow morning (December 6), the team will leave for Laos to prepare for the opening match in Group B of the 2024 Southeast Asian Championship against the host country's team. This match will take place at 8:00 p.m. on December 9 at the Laos National Stadium.

This will be the first time Xuan Son wears the red shirt with the yellow star. He shared: “Happy with this special moment (being included in the list of 26 players attending the AFF Cup 2024) in my life. It is a great joy and responsibility to represent this wonderful country. Thank you for your support”.
