Nguyen Xuan Son received a unique welcome at the Vietnamese national team.

After completing their duties in the AFC Champions League Two with Nam Dinh FC, Xuan Son, Van Toan, and Van Vi flew back from Thailand and arrived in Viet Tri (Phu Tho) to join the Vietnamese national team. The three players arrived just as the team was having dinner and were welcomed with a special "ceremonial" in a joyful and warm atmosphere.

The players lined up in two rows and playfully hit three of their new teammates who had just joined the team.

Newcomer Xuan Son was also warmly welcomed. The Brazilian-born striker made a good impression by always holding a small national flag tightly in his hand.

Xuan Son seemed delighted with this welcome.

Having just returned from Thailand, Xuan Son, Van Toan, and Van Vi were absent from the Vietnamese national team's training session on the afternoon of December 5th. They will have their first training session with the rest of the team in Laos. Tomorrow morning (December 6th), the team will depart for Laos to prepare for their opening match in Group B of the 2024 Southeast Asian Championship against the host nation's team. This match will take place at 8 PM on December 9th at the Laotian National Stadium.

This will be the first time Xuan Son has worn the red and yellow jersey of the national team. He shared: “I am happy with this special moment (being included in the list of 26 players for the AFF Cup 2024) in my life. It is a great joy and responsibility to represent this wonderful country. Thank you for your support.”
