On May 20th, at the headquarters of the Ho Chi Minh City Writers Association, poet Vu Thanh Hoa launched her new trilogy of poems titled "Vu - Thanh - Hoa," with the theme "The Other Woman Within Me," marking her return after nearly a decade of quiet in her creative journey. The event attracted a large number of artists, poetry lovers, and representatives from press and publishing agencies.
Speaking at the event, writer Trinh Bich Ngan, President of the Ho Chi Minh City Writers Association, remarked that the trilogy forms a unified artistic whole. Each volume contains 54 poems, clearly indicating the time of creation spanning from 2010 to 2025. This structure makes the entire work resemble a "biography in verse," allowing readers to follow the changes in the author's inner life through each period.
The trilogy is the most intense, symbolizing rain and evoking the turbulent, lonely, and broken years of a woman who has weathered many storms. Next, the trilogy, "Peace," represents the calm after the storm, both the sound of fate and the serenity of self-reflection and healing. The trilogy concludes with "Flower," a symbol of beauty, awakening, and compassion, reflecting faith in light and rebirth.
According to experts, Vu Thanh Hoa's poetry in this trilogy is more profound, intense, and instinctive than her previous works. She does not shy away from the hidden aspects of human existence, brokenness, or loneliness in modern life. However, above all, there remains a heart full of love, always striving towards the light and showing compassion for humanity.
At the exchange session, poet Vu Thanh Hoa shared that she had spent many years perfecting this trilogy. For her, it was a journey of self-reflection, overcoming losses, and finding balance in her soul.
Born into a family with a rich artistic tradition, poet Vu Thanh Hoa currently lives and writes in Vung Tau city. Prior to this trio, the female author had already published eight works of poetry and prose. Many opinions at the ceremony praised Vu Thanh Hoa's return, noting that she has brought another powerful female poetic voice, adding new colors to the city's literary landscape in a contemporary literary context that needs exploration and innovation in expressive thinking.
