The "Adopted Children of the Association" model, widely implemented by the City Farmers' Association in recent times, has become a humane support system helping many disadvantaged and orphaned students continue their education.

Throughout her journey of overcoming difficult circumstances in pursuit of knowledge, Nguyen Thi Bao Ngoc (a grade 8 student from Thanh Boi village, Son Cam Ha commune) is always grateful for the support of the uncles and aunts in the Party Branch of the Quang Nam Provincial Farmers' Association (now the Da Nang City Farmers' Association).

Bao Ngoc's mother, Nguyen Thi Tam, the Vice-Chairwoman of the Farmers' Association in Thanh Boi village, unfortunately suffers from a serious illness and is facing difficult circumstances. Ms. Tam's family has three children of school age. All three are well-behaved and excel in their studies; Ngoc, in particular, has achieved excellent student status for seven consecutive years. In 2024, as part of the "Adopted Child of the Party Branch" model, the former Quang Nam Provincial Farmers' Association Party Branch adopted Ngoc and provides her with 500,000 VND per month to help her attend school.

Besides Bao Ngoc, the former Quang Nam Provincial Farmers' Association Party Branch also sponsors Vo Minh Tuan (8th grade, Hiep Duc commune), the son of a disadvantaged association official. In addition to regular financial support, the Party Branch also provides gifts at the beginning of the school year and during Tet (Lunar New Year), with funding coming from monthly savings and contributions from Party members. To date, the Party Branch has sponsored four students. This model is being continued by the Farmers' Affairs Committee Party Branch (City Farmers' Association) until the students reach 18 years of age, helping them to confidently pursue their education.

Based on the "Adopted Child of the Party Branch" model, the City Farmers' Association has expanded and developed it into the "Adopted Child of the Association" model and spread it throughout its branches.

The Farmers' Association of Ban Thach ward is an effective unit in implementing this model. Bui Thi Thanh Huong (Ban Thach ward) grew up in a disadvantaged family, orphaned by her mother, and her father suffered a stroke. In 2019, the Farmers' Association of Hoa Thuan ward (formerly), now Ban Thach ward, sponsored Huong, providing her with 500,000 VND per month. Thankfully, in 2025, Huong passed the entrance exam to the University of Education ( Da Nang University), continuing to pursue her dream of studying.

According to Nguyen Thi Thu Tuyet, Chairwoman of the Ban Thach Ward Farmers' Association, since 2019, the ward has sponsored eight disadvantaged and orphaned children, helping them continue their education. Funding for this support comes from the association's fund, various organizations, and benefactors.

Recently, the Farmers' Association of Hiep Duc commune sponsored Cao Thi Anh Thu (15 years old, An Nam village), an orphan whose father passed away and who currently lives with her mother. The monthly support of 300,000 VND helps Thu attend school. The Farmers' Association stated that they will continue to campaign to expand this meaningful model.

The City Farmers' Association reported that the "Association's Adopted Children" model has been expanded to 93 branches, with over 50% of them currently sponsoring 60 students, providing support ranging from 300,000 VND to 1,000,000 VND per month. This is a practical source of encouragement that helps many children avoid interruptions in their studies, while also spreading the spirit of mutual support and compassion within the community.

Chairwoman of the City Farmers' Association, Le Thi Minh Tam, assessed, "The 'Association's Adopted Children' model is a meaningful and effective community mobilization initiative, demonstrating the association's concern for disadvantaged and orphaned students. Through monitoring, the children have shown significant progress, maintaining good academic performance, with many having passed university entrance exams and continuing to pursue their dreams. In the future, the association will continue to expand this model to 100% of its branches, contributing to the effective implementation of social welfare work in the city."
