The world's first railway station built using 3D printing technology is located in Japan, with construction completed in just one week.

The train station, with its curved white roof, is located in a rural area of Wakayama Prefecture in western Japan.

According to Serendix Corporation, the company that collaborated with West Japan Railway Company (JR West) on this project, the production of the station's foundation and exterior took only 7 days.

The station's components were then reinforced with steel and concrete inserts, and assembled in place.

Representatives from Serendix Corporation stated that using conventional methods would take one or two months to install the roof and walls of the station, but with 3D printing technology, this work only takes about two hours, demonstrating the speed advantage of this technology.

According to JR West, the assembly process for the station began after the last train departed around midnight and was completed before the first train arrived at the station around 5 a.m.

This station can begin operations after the interior is completed and the ticket gates are installed.
