Many new points in the Law on Economical and Efficient Energy Use.

The forum "Energy Saving and Efficiency: Achievements and Goals in the Era of Advancement," organized by the Ministry of Industry and Trade in Hanoi, aimed to disseminate the new points of the amended Law on Energy Saving and Efficiency – which was recently passed by the National Assembly on June 18, 2025.

The Law on Economical and Efficient Energy Use includes many new provisions.

With Vietnam entering a phase of green growth and making strong commitments at COP26, energy conservation and efficiency have become urgent tasks. On June 26th, the Ministry of Industry and Trade organized the forum "Energy Conservation and Efficiency: Achievements and Goals in the Era of Empowerment" in Hanoi. The event aimed to disseminate the amended Law on Energy Conservation and Efficiency, recently passed by the National Assembly, which features many breakthroughs in policy and legal aspects, towards ensuring sustainable energy security and socio-economic development.

The new law has been comprehensively revised with 19 articles amended and 1 new article added. The new law has many breakthroughs, focusing on four main policy areas: establishing a fund to promote energy saving through social mobilization; developing an energy service system (ESCO); labeling energy-efficient building materials; and green financing incentives…

The Ministry of Industry and Trade will also soon issue guiding documents, strengthen propaganda, encourage businesses to invest in energy-saving technologies, and improve the quality of human resources for the energy consulting and auditing market.
