Practical significance

In recent days, Mr. Duong Thanh Loc, residing in Khanh My hamlet, My Duc commune, has frequently visited the construction site of the Ba Ngan bridge connecting the banks of Khanh My and My Pho. For Mr. Loc, the project holds special significance: it extends his family's spirit of dedication to the community. “I am the grandson of Mr. Ba Ngan – the man who mobilized resources to build the bridge for the villagers' transportation long ago. Because the project bears my grandfather's name, his descendants consider it a spiritual heritage that must be preserved with respect. We are willing to support the local government and join hands with the villagers to build the bridge quickly so that everyone can use it in the new year.”

According to Mr. Duong Thanh Loc, not only the descendants of the family but also most residents of Khanh My and My Pho hamlets hope for the project to be completed soon. For them, the Ba Ngan bridge not only has transportation value but also spiritual value, as it has been associated with many generations of people in this area. “The people here rely on the Ba Ngan bridge for travel and transporting goods. The bridge has been rebuilt many times, but mainly with wood, so it needs frequent reinforcement. This year, the government is mobilizing people to contribute funds to build a sturdy concrete bridge, and everyone is wholeheartedly supportive,” shared Mr. Tran Van Tu, a resident of My Pho hamlet.

When the Ba Ngạn bridge project began, many local people contributed financially. They were willing to dedicate themselves to the community, continuing the village culture of the Mỹ Đức - Khánh Hòa region for generations. “When pouring concrete for the bridge pillars, many people participated. When something benefits the village, no one begrudges their time or money; they only hope to benefit from the project soon,” Mr. Tứ said.

Local authorities are also coordinating with the construction unit to try to speed up progress and ensure the quality of the project. “The Ba Ngạn Bridge has been a long-awaited dream of the local people for many years. We are securing resources and ensuring logistics so that the construction team can complete the bridge as soon as possible. The local community hopes to see vehicles running on the bridge in the new year,” said Tran Thanh Tam, Chairman of the People's Committee of My Duc Commune.

Construction is progressing smoothly.

Not only in My Duc commune, but also in Chau Phu commune, people are enthusiastically constructing the Canal 7 - South National Canal bridge. The project is 35m long, 5m wide, and has a load capacity of 8 tons, with a total construction cost of over 1.67 billion VND from socialized funding. This project is of special significance, serving both the people and creating momentum for the development of transportation infrastructure in Chau Phu commune during the 2025-2030 term.

Currently, the construction unit is mobilizing maximum manpower and machinery, taking advantage of favorable weather conditions to complete the project. At this time, the construction force has completed the concrete pouring for the bridge piers with great enthusiasm.

Participating in pouring concrete for the bridge pillars, Mr. Pham Van Hung, residing in Binh Thang hamlet, shared: “I am very happy to contribute to the construction of the Canal 7 bridge. The Chau Phu countryside used to have mostly wooden bridges, but now many are being paved with concrete. Every drop of sweat we shed is another part of the work completed. We are even happier on the day of the project's inauguration. With this bridge, students can happily go to school, and people can transport goods and travel more conveniently.”

Mr. Hung said that the construction atmosphere became even more vibrant when local people joined forces with officers and soldiers of the 6th Artillery Brigade, 9th Military Region, the commune police, and local militia. In the early morning, the green of the soldiers' uniforms blended with the green of the farmers' clothes as they mixed concrete and carried bags of stones to connect the two banks of Canal 7, which deeply moved Mr. Hung. “With the participation of several soldiers and police officers, the project progressed faster. Everyone appreciated and cherished the dedication and contributions of these young soldiers to their hometown of Chau Phu,” Mr. Hung shared.

Contributing to the construction of the Canal 7 bridge, Tran Quoc Kiet, a militia soldier from the Chau Phu Commune Military Command, is working hard with everyone to speed up the progress. Kiet said: “Working with the people to build the bridge has improved my discipline, community spirit, and dedication to the development of my homeland. I am trying my best to contribute to the early completion and commissioning of the Canal 7 bridge, bringing joy to the people in the new year.”

In the same spirit, Senior Lieutenant Le Phuong Bao, a police officer from Chau Phu commune, volunteered to dedicate his youthful energy to his homeland. "I am proud to participate in the construction of this meaningful bridge. This is an opportunity for us to demonstrate the spirit of serving the people that is characteristic of the police force," Senior Lieutenant Le Phuong Bao shared.

Besides the Canal 7 bridge, the Party Committee and People's Committee of Chau Phu commune are surveying the construction of additional bridges with significant implications for 2026. Chairman of the Chau Phu Commune People's Committee, Le Quoc Phong, emphasized: “We are coordinating with the Binh My Commune People's Committee to survey the construction of the Canal 13 bridge connecting the two localities. The project, with an investment of nearly 60 billion VND, will contribute to opening up the economic lifeline of the two localities and the surrounding area. We believe these projects will bring smiles to the local people in the new year with many hopes for the future.”
