In October 1991, coinciding with the re-establishment of Kon Tum province, the Kon Tum Newspaper was founded. During those difficult early days, even as a contributor, I received guidance and encouragement from the staff of the Kon Tum Newspaper, who helped me contribute content to the first issues. Among them was Mr. Ha Xuan Vinh, whom I always respected!

Recalling those days, from the "common home" of Gia Lai - Kon Tum Newspaper, Vo Tan Long, Le Van Thieng, Ha Xuan Vinh, Hoang Nhat Hang, and Bui Quang Vinh took on the responsibility of building the Kon Tum Provincial Party Committee's newspaper. It must be said that at that time, both material resources and human resources were very difficult and scarce. Among the five pioneering brothers, I was closest to Le Van Thieng and Ha Xuan Vinh. Vinh, in particular, served as the Editorial Secretary, so we became even closer and shared more.

The Kon Tum newspaper was published weekly at that time. Besides commissioning articles from me weekly, whenever there was a shortage of topics, especially at the grassroots level, Vinh would personally cycle from the editorial office to my house in Doan Ket commune (now Nguyen Trai ward), Kon Tum city, to commission articles. We would exchange ideas quickly, and then I would cycle back and forth to several neighboring communes to carry out his close guidance and suggestions.

All the news articles back then were handwritten. Every time I finished writing, whether during or outside of office hours, I would ride my bicycle to the newspaper's staff quarters and submit it directly to him. Very quickly, Mr. Vinh would skim through the content, edit it, and send it immediately to the editorial board. At that time, Mr. Vo Tan Long was the Editor-in-Chief, but because he also held the position of Director of the Broadcasting Station, the professional aspects of the newspaper were handled by the Deputy Editor-in-Chief, Le Van Thieng.

Back then, I was just a contributor, but I was deeply passionate about Kon Tum Newspaper. Wherever I went, whatever I did, I always thought about and worried about getting news and articles for the newspaper. Besides loving the profession, my memories with Kon Tum Newspaper and with Mr. Ha Xuan Vinh will surely remain full and warm forever. Mr. Vinh gave me strength and instilled passion in me during my early days as a journalist: "He taught me how to write headlines and construct sentences / To capture events, to choose issues to write about / He passed on to me his whole enthusiasm / Love for my homeland, responsibility entrusted by the Party!" There were days when our conversations about the profession and topics for Kon Tum Newspaper lasted until late at night. We confided in each other, exchanging ideas about new topics, the content that the provincial Party committee's newspaper needed to focus on, reflecting the pulse of reality, especially the lives of ethnic minorities and people in remote areas.

We all know that no one can escape the cycle of birth, aging, illness, and death. But he passed away at a young age, still contributing to the newspaper he had been associated with, the one he and his team had poured their hearts and souls into building from the very beginning, through difficult times. To me, Mr. Ha Xuan Vinh was a sincere, kind older brother, an honest, responsible, and dedicated journalist.
