Because the leaves, stems, and roots of the *Dillenia* plant contain high levels of saponins (which can cause hemolysis), the following cases should be absolutely avoided or treated with caution when using it.

In which cases should the herb *Dinh Lang* not be used ?

According to traditional medicine, the leaves of the Aralia plant have a bitter taste and a cooling nature. Their main effects are detoxification, anti-allergy, treatment of hemoptysis and dysentery, and tonifying of qi and blood, as well as improving blood circulation. Aralia leaves are often used to treat colds and fevers, boils, swelling, to nourish the body in weakened individuals, and to promote lactation in postpartum women.

However, pregnant women (especially in the first three months of pregnancy) should not use it because the plant has strong blood-activating properties, which can cause uterine contractions, affect the fetus, or increase the risk of miscarriage.

Children should not be given water infused with Centella asiatica leaves because their organ systems are not yet fully developed, and overuse can affect their cardiovascular system. Children should only use Centella asiatica externally (such as in pillows or baths).

People with liver, kidney, and fatty liver disease: Those suffering from cirrhosis, hepatitis, or kidney failure should not drink ginseng wine or concentrated ginseng leaf decoction as it may increase the burden on and damage the liver and kidneys.

For those taking Western medicine: Ginseng may interact with certain medications; consult your doctor before use.

People with severe nervous exhaustion: Although Centella asiatica is good for sleep, excessively high concentrations can have the opposite effect.

People with digestive disorders: If you are experiencing diarrhea or abdominal pain and bloating, the cooling properties and saponin content in Centella asiatica may worsen the condition.

For people with diabetes and low blood pressure: Panax notoginseng may lower blood sugar levels and cause a sudden drop in blood pressure.

For those suffering from acute insomnia: Although it can have a calming effect in some cases, consuming too much Centella asiatica in the evening can cause reverse nervous excitement, leading to difficulty sleeping.

Patients preparing for surgery: Should discontinue use at least two weeks before scheduled surgery.

Ginseng is good for health, but not everyone can use it, and excessive use can lead to poisoning.

Important notes when using Centella asiatica daily.

Do not drink it instead of plain water: You should absolutely not use water infused with Centella asiatica leaves to completely replace your daily drinking water for an extended period, as this can cause saponin poisoning, leading to fatigue, dizziness, and lightheadedness.

Do not drink on an empty stomach: The high tannin content in the root can irritate the stomach lining, causing heartburn and nausea.

Food interactions: Avoid combining with foods that are considered "cold" in nature, such as cucumbers, tomatoes, or raw vegetables, to prevent digestive problems.

Avoid using high doses (such as boiling too many leaves), especially for prolonged periods, as this can cause poisoning and fatigue.

It is advisable to consult a qualified medical professional before use, especially if you have any underlying health conditions.
