New path, new opportunities
Recognizing transportation as a breakthrough area and the "lifeblood" of the economy , Tuyen Quang province has focused on mobilizing resources to invest in a synchronized transportation system that connects the province and other regions over the years. Resolutions and socio-economic development programs of the province all prioritize transportation, considering it the foundation for attracting investment, promoting production, facilitating the flow of goods, and improving the lives of the people.
The most significant achievement is the gradual development of Tuyen Quang's expressway network. The Tuyen Quang - Phu Tho expressway, now completed and operational, has become a "gateway" directly connecting the province to the Noi Bai - Lao Cai route, significantly shortening travel time to Hanoi and other major economic centers. Beyond facilitating travel, this route has also provided a crucial boost in attracting investment, particularly to industrial zones and clusters in the southern part of the province.

Mr. Christian Olofsson, CEO of Real Estate at Central Retail Vietnam, stated that Tuyen Quang's gradual improvement of its transportation infrastructure, particularly the expressways connecting to Hanoi and other key economic provinces in the North, has created many favorable opportunities for businesses during the survey and investment decision-making process. Based on this, Central Retail chose Tuyen Quang to develop the GO! shopping mall – the 45th member of the Group's chain of shopping malls in Vietnam.
The GO! Tuyen Quang project covers a total area of nearly 15,000 m2 and is built as a multi-utility shopping mall, meeting the growing shopping, entertainment, and leisure needs of the people. The highlight is the GO! hypermarket, with an area of over 5,000 m2, selling more than 40,000 food items, fast-moving consumer goods, and necessities, along with restaurants, entertainment areas, convenience stores, and reputable fashion brands.
Continuing to expand development opportunities, the Tuyen Quang - Ha Giang expressway (phase 1), over 104 km long, is being accelerated, aiming for completion and commissioning in the first quarter of 2026. The province is also finalizing procedures to implement phase 2, opening a new section from Tan Quang to Thanh Thuy International Border Gate, aiming to connect across the border with Yunnan province (China), forming a new economic and tourism corridor.
Alongside the expressways, many other important transportation projects have been invested in, such as the Ho Chi Minh Highway section from Cho Chu to Trung Son Junction, and routes connecting the provincial center with districts and key tourist areas. From 2020 to the present, the province manages 11 national highways with a total length of over 1,170 km; many sections of National Highway 2 and National Highway 2C have been renovated and upgraded, better meeting transportation needs.
The provincial road system, comprising 19 routes and nearly 1,000 km, has also received significant investment. In particular, many key bridges and routes such as Xuan Van Bridge, Trang 2 Bridge, Bach Xa Bridge, and bridges over the Lo River have been completed, contributing to enhanced connectivity between economic zones and tourist areas, while significantly transforming the urban and rural landscape.
Joy in every village
Besides focusing on external transportation, Tuyen Quang allocates resources to developing intra-provincial transportation, especially in rural areas and remote regions. Numerous provincial roads, district roads, and inter-commune and inter-village roads have been paved and expanded; many new bridges have been built, replacing temporary or weak bridges.
The implementation of Resolution 55 of the Provincial People's Council on the construction of rural bridges has left a clear mark. To date, hundreds of bridges have been completed, contributing to the removal of "bottlenecks" on rural transportation routes, ensuring safety for people and students, especially during the rainy season and floods.

The new bridge not only facilitates travel but also enables the transportation of agricultural and forestry products, reducing costs, increasing the value of goods, and gradually shortening the distance between remote areas and urban centers. Smooth concrete roads have replaced the muddy paths of the past. Children can go to school more safely, and people have easier access to healthcare and education. The joy therefore spreads not only from the major roads but also to every village and every family.
Having been haunted by the temporary culvert crossing the stream, Mr. Do Van Hinh, from Gia village, Thai Binh commune, said that since the construction of the Goc Tau bridge, local people have been very happy. Traveling during the rainy season is safer, and trade and commerce are easier. Previously, there was only a temporary culvert across the stream for people to cross.
The small culvert overflows during heavy rains, causing many people to be swept away by the current. I myself once got swept away by the water at night; I had to swim to safety and leave my motorbike behind to retrieve it the next day. In 2023, the Goc Tau bridge was built with sturdy concrete and railings, making travel much easier. After many years of waiting, hundreds of people in the village are overjoyed," said Mr. Hinh.
According to Mr. Hinh, since the new bridge was built, the situation of villages being cut off during the rainy season and floods has ceased. Previously, every time there was a flood, the entire village would be isolated. Dozens of new bridges have been built throughout the commune. With sturdy bridges, crossing the streams is no longer a constant worry. This is especially important for children going to school during heavy rains when the water level rises.
The First Congress of the Tuyen Quang Provincial Party Committee, for the 2025-2030 term, continues to identify transportation development as a strategic breakthrough. During the 2025-2030 period, the province will focus on completing a modern and synchronized transportation infrastructure; prioritizing key expressways and national highways; and linking transportation development with urban planning, industrial development, new rural development, and tourism.
According to Comrade Luu Viet Anh, Deputy Director of the Department of Construction, the sector will continue to advise on strengthening regional linkages with Phu Tho, Thai Nguyen, Lao Cai, and Cao Bang provinces; expanding cooperation with Yunnan and Guangxi (China) to develop transportation and tourism infrastructure at border gates. At the same time, emphasis will be placed on developing green and sustainable transportation, gradually forming routes for bicycles and electric vehicles, and pedestrian spaces in urban areas and tourist zones.
Each completed road not only connects different regions but also connects joy, faith, and aspirations for development. From cities to rural areas, from lowlands to highlands, the increasingly完善 transportation infrastructure is creating a new face for Tuyen Quang - more dynamic, more connected, and with more opportunities.
These roads today are the foundation for new journeys, helping Tuyen Quang gradually realize its goal of rapid and sustainable development, for the prosperous and happy lives of its people.
