Last weekend, Nam Vu Farm, an experiential farm in Lien Mac commune (Thanh Ha district), welcomed a group of 40 visitors, including both Vietnamese and Danish tourists.

Ms. Luong Thi Cuc, Deputy Director of Nam Vu Clean Agriculture Cooperative, enthusiastically introduced her farm: “Here, visitors can pick guavas to eat in the garden, visit the chicken farming model, experience wading in the mud to catch fish, make fried cakes and glutinous rice cakes…” She also introduced famous tourist destinations in Hai Duong such as the Con Son - Kiet Bac National Special Historical Site (Chi Linh), An Phu - Kinh Chu - Nham Duong (Kinh Mon), Tranh Temple (Ninh Giang)… and famous specialties such as mung bean cakes, thorn cakes, rice rolls, and mudworm patties… “Introducing these to tourists, I am not only the farm owner but also have the responsibility to spread the good values of the land, people, and culture of Hai Duong,” Ms. Cuc said.

Ms. Cúc researched and created new products from readily available, health-beneficial ingredients on her farm, such as guava bud tea, perilla, lotus leaves, and Syzygium aromaticum leaves. Flexibly utilizing social media platforms, she and her husband brainstormed ideas, developed scripts, and filmed short comedic videos to promote these products. She proactively organized and participated in trade promotion activities. "Selling on social media platforms and through promotional activities has resulted in sales far exceeding traditional methods," Ms. Cúc said.

Ms. Cúc has been a member of the Provincial Tourism Association for over a year. Since joining the association, she has not only gained a better understanding of legal regulations regarding tourism activities and learned many best practices, but has also demonstrated her role and responsibility as a member for the overall development of the province's tourism industry.

Mr. Nguyen Quoc Tuan, owner of Tuan Ruoi restaurant on Truong Han Sieu street (Hai Duong city), is currently the Vice President of the Provincial Tourism Association. He believes that cuisine plays a crucial role in tourism development. Hai Duong's Ruoi (a type of worm) has established a strong reputation among tourists, but an individual alone cannot create a brand.

Every time he welcomes guests, he not only introduces his restaurant but also promotes the "rươi" (a type of worm) – a gift from nature to the land of Hai Duong. "The deliciousness of a dish doesn't just lie in the recipe; it's also determined by the source of the ingredients. Only the water and alluvial soil of Hai Duong can produce "rươi" with such rich nutritional value and unparalleled flavor," Mr. Tuan said.

In his stories, he always mentions "Hai Duong's mudworms" because there are many areas where mudworms are harvested, such as Tu Ky, Kinh Mon, and Thanh Ha. "The important thing is that when we showcase the Hai Duong province's mudworm brand to tourists from other provinces, they recognize it better than when we talk about an individual, a commune, or a district," Mr. Tuan said.

Mr. Tuan is also willing to act as a tour guide, taking tourists to the mudworm farming areas of Hai Duong to visit, experience, and witness firsthand the process of mudworm harvesting combined with organic rice cultivation, without the use of chemical fertilizers or pesticides.

The meticulous attention to detail in changing the service style, staff uniforms, and even every photo-worthy corner has made his restaurant a popular destination for many celebrities and tourists.

Mr. Nguyen Minh Xo, Chairman of the Provincial Tourism Association, said that the association currently has 294 members. These members come from diverse industries and fields, including owners of travel agencies, restaurants, and hotels; owners of tourist attractions and resorts; state management agencies in tourism; and various tourism-related businesses and support services. Each member is an active, responsible, and enthusiastic contributor to the association's activities in particular and the province's tourism industry in general.
