Received login alerts from an unfamiliar device.

Facebook will send you a notification when someone logs into your account from an unfamiliar device or location. If you don't take action, it's very likely someone is trying to gain unauthorized access. → Action: Change your password immediately and check your login history in the "Security and Login" section.

Unfamiliar posts, messages, or friend requests appear.

If you see content you didn't create – such as promotional posts, strange messages sent to friends, or unusual friend requests – that's a sign your account has been compromised. → Action: Change your password and notify your friends to avoid being scammed.

Unable to log in to account

You were unexpectedly logged out and unable to log back in with your old password. Facebook may notify you that your password has been changed or your account has been locked due to suspected intrusion. → Action: Use the “Forgot Password” feature to recover your account, then change to a stronger password.

Receive email confirmations for changes you didn't request.

If you receive an email from Facebook confirming a password, email, or phone number change that you didn't make, it's a clear sign your account has been compromised. → Action : Access Facebook immediately to check and change your password, and enable two-factor authentication.

Using the same password for multiple accounts.

If you use the same password for Facebook and other platforms (email, banking, shopping, etc.), the risk of being hacked is very high – especially if one of those services experiences a data leak. → Action: Change to a separate password for Facebook, avoiding repetition across other platforms.

Suspect someone knows your password.

Have you ever shared your password with someone else, or suspect someone is tracking your activity on Facebook? Don't hesitate. → Action: Change your password immediately and enable two-factor authentication to enhance security.

How to effectively protect your Facebook account:

  • Use a strong password: at least 10 characters, including uppercase letters, lowercase letters, numbers, and special characters.
  • Enable two-factor authentication (2FA) to prevent unauthorized access.
  • Check your login history regularly.
  • Do not click on strange links or log in through unofficial websites.
  • Change your password regularly, especially after noticing any unusual activity.
