This is the first picture book series by author Cat Tuong in her 15-year journey of writing books. The interesting series, containing profound life lessons, is not only a useful spiritual gift for young readers but also for parents when reading with their children, and adult readers can also find relaxing and meaningful moments when reading books.
Everyone has their own values.
The common point of the 3 books is that author Cat Tuong has cleverly personified familiar household objects such as refrigerators, electric fans, second hands, etc. to write simple stories through which children will feel close to themselves.

With the rebellious Second Hand, the author tells the story of the Second Hand's competitive nature: "Why do I work the hardest but get the least attention? People only look at the clock to see the minutes and the hours, who cares about me? I can't live such an unfair life forever!", along with the journey of throwing myself off the axis, adventuring to find my own value. With the remaining 2 books, the author also tells the story of the boastful Freezer criticizing the old Refrigerator or the arrogant Air Conditioner scorning the rusty Electric Fan that is useless...
Only with subtle observations and novel ideas, author Cat Tuong can convey the stories of things, or more precisely, the very natural emotions and personality traits of people. “Reading the picture book series, whether it is children, parents, or adults, everyone will see somewhere the shadow of themselves - the little girls and boys who have felt hurt because of being compared or have boasted about comparing themselves...” - author Cat Tuong shared.
The photo book series with vivid, lovely stories and genuine emotions sends readers a simple message: Any item or anyone has a unique value. Be proud and confident about that. Nurture those values first with your own belief and effort.

Nurture values with faith and effort
Through the story, author Cat Tuong sends meaningful messages: Everyone can work with their own abilities, regardless of age; anyone can become a "hero" in the eyes of others without having to follow any rigid standards; it is necessary to understand one's own value, whether others pay attention to you or not is not really important.
Author Cat Tuong shared: “I chose Unique Values as the main theme when I started writing the book, because this theme has meaning for me first. Since I was a child, I was often compared with other friends in everything: body shape, skin color, agility, grades, speech... A shy girl being compared with other talkative girls, there is clearly something... wrong. It seems that everyone has a common standard for everyone: All children, all adults, all parents... must be like this to be good; anything different is off the standard, is wrong. I think that unique values cannot be put on the scale to compare...”.
