The deer farming model of Mr. Le Trong Binh's family in the Doi area.
Born in 1993 in the Hill area, like many households in the region, Le Trong Binh's family previously relied primarily on traditional agricultural production, leading to economic hardship and constant financial struggles. Driven by a desire for a better life, after graduating, Binh participated in a labor export program to Japan to accumulate capital and learn modern work practices. Upon returning home, he spent time visiting and learning from successful production models before deciding to invest in building a deer farm. After three years of persistent effort, his herd has grown to over 30 deer, providing both antler harvesting and breeding stock to the market. Each year, after deducting expenses, his family earns approximately 250 million VND. Not only has Binh's model stabilized his family's finances, but it has also opened up new development opportunities for many local households.
Thanks to his keen business acumen, Mr. Nguyen Van Tuan in Tan area has achieved success with his model of growing honey pineapples on hilly land. Having worked in the hilly forest for many years, and experimenting with various crops without achieving high economic returns, in 2020 he decided to switch to planting 3 hectares of honey pineapples. By applying the correct technical procedures, suitable to the local soil conditions, his family's pineapple crop has grown well, yielding high productivity and quality. Importantly, the product is purchased by a partner enterprise, ensuring stable sales and minimal price fluctuations. Currently, after deducting expenses, Mr. Tuan's family earns a profit of approximately 600 million VND per year, becoming one of the exemplary economic models in the commune.
Along with Mr. Binh and Mr. Tuan, in recent years, the movement of farmers competing to excel in production and business in Yen Son has spread strongly. Many farmer members have boldly transformed the structure of crops and livestock, applied science and technology to production, and gradually increased their income and improved their living standards.
Mr. Nguyen Dinh Hong, Vice Chairman of the Fatherland Front Committee and Chairman of the Farmers' Association of Yen Son commune, said: “The movement of farmers competing in excellent production and business in the commune has been effective. To make the movement more substantial, the Farmers' Association of the commune is promoting propaganda and mobilizing cadres and members to actively develop the economy and get rich on their own land. Funding for farmers is used for the right purposes. In addition, the Association regularly coordinates and organizes training courses and transfers advanced scientific and technical knowledge to improve production knowledge for its members.”
Thanks to sound policies and the bold, innovative spirit of the farmers, the face of rural Yen Son is changing day by day. The poverty rate in the commune has decreased to 11.3%; average income has reached nearly 43 million VND/person/year. The new "wealthy farmers" in Yen Son are contributing to creating momentum for sustainable and modern rural economic development.
