BAC NINH - Amidst the hustle and bustle of industrial production, many workers not only follow established procedures but also strive to find ways to make their daily tasks more efficient and easier. This is clear evidence of the vitality of the "Excellent Worker" and "Creative Worker" emulation movements among workers and laborers in Bac Ninh.

From the concerns during shift work

Binh Nguyen High-Tech Environmental Joint Stock Company (Phu Lang commune) operates primarily in the field of waste collection, transportation, treatment, and recycling.

Every day, in addition to a large amount of solid waste, the company also processes approximately 100 ^m³ of various types of wastewater. Therefore, the machinery and equipment are easily corroded by chemicals and the heavy workload.

Mr. Do Duc Viet, from Binh Nguyen Environmental High-Tech Joint Stock Company, introduced his initiative "Fabricating steel ribbed couplings to replace stainless steel flexible couplings".

Mr. Do Duc Viet, Head of the Wastewater Treatment Team, has been with the company for many years and has often faced headaches due to the stainless steel flexible joints in the wastewater treatment system. He shared: "This is a crucial piece of equipment, but it frequently malfunctions. The high pressure and strong vibrations cause the joints to constantly break. Each replacement only lasts about a week before failing again. The replacement costs are high, directly impacting the company's production efficiency."

Faced with this reality, Viet and his colleagues spent many nights thinking and experimenting with materials readily available in the workshop. Instead of relying on expensive stainless steel, Viet decided to experiment with ribbed steel tubing combined with metal clamps tightened at both ends.

The initiative to "Manufacture steel ribbed couplings to replace stainless steel flexible couplings" has yielded outstanding results, increasing the coupling's durability by 2-3 months, ensuring the device maintains its designed elasticity, operates smoothly, extends its lifespan, completely eliminates water leakage, and most importantly, is inexpensive, uses readily available materials, and saves the company hundreds of millions of dong in costs.

For this initiative, Mr. Do Duc Viet was awarded a Certificate of Commendation by the Provincial Labor Union. Ms. Vu Thi Ninh, Chairwoman of the Binh Nguyen Company's Trade Union, stated: "Employees are a valuable asset to the enterprise. When they feel respected, recognized, and given the opportunity to be creative, they will contribute with all their abilities and dedication."

During the period 2023-2025, workers and laborers throughout the province completed 152 projects and produced products with a total value of 614 billion VND. In addition, 9,852 technical improvement projects and initiatives were implemented, benefiting units and businesses by more than 8.1 billion VND.

At Casablanca Tan Thinh Joint Stock Company (Nghia Hoa Industrial Cluster, Kep Commune), the spirit of innovation is also nurtured and fostered. The company's leadership understands that each worker is a potential innovator; every suggestion is listened to, and every initiative that yields results is rewarded accordingly.

Mr. Do Van Cao, the deputy screen printing shift manager, is one of the workers who took advantage of that opportunity. Facing pressure from orders requiring multi-color printing, the traditional printing process was very time-consuming due to the need for multiple passes. He pondered, "Why can't we optimize the process right at the printing frame?"

After diligent research, he perfected the innovation "Improving the printing frame, combining two colors on one frame to print two colors simultaneously on one machine." This combination significantly reduced the number of print runs, thereby cutting down on electricity consumption, labor costs, and operating expenses. This innovation alone saved the company nearly 50 million VND per month. This is a source of pride for Mr. Cao, seeing his achievements contribute to the company's success.

The widespread impact of the emulation movement.

In Bac Ninh province, the "Excellent Worker" and "Creative Worker" emulation movements have become a continuous thread. Currently, the Provincial Federation of Labor is directly supervising 2,148 grassroots trade unions with more than 578,000 members.

This number reflects the synergy of hundreds of thousands of minds thinking together about "how to do things better, faster, and more economically."
