Currently, the workforce in the Vietnamese gaming industry mainly comes from fields such as Information Technology, Graphic Design, and Computer Science . Very few universities in Vietnam offer dedicated programs in these areas.

Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology
After years of research, the Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology is officially recruiting students for its Game Design and Development major with 200 enrollment slots.
The program is expected to provide training over four years, targeting two job groups: game designers and game developers, who will be able to work at game studios in Vietnam or proactively start their own businesses with their own games.
The academy plans to design a four-year, eight-semester program in Game Design and Development with 135 credits. The program structure is a harmonious combination of technology and social sciences such as psychology, culture, economics , and especially knowledge of law and security.
The school plans to recruit students through four methods: direct admission; admission based on scores from the aptitude and thinking skills assessment exams of Hanoi National University, Ho Chi Minh City National University, and Hanoi University of Science and Technology; combined admission; and admission based on high school graduation exam results.
RMIT University
RMIT University offers a Game Design program at both its Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City campuses. The program focuses on training creative leaders responsible for bringing a game to life, integrating the qualities of a writer, artist, and programmer.
While studying this program at RMIT University, students will have the opportunity to develop their own game products, from board games to video games, from design to playtesting. These innovative game projects promise to be a highlight.
RMIT University sets the tuition fee for the Game Design program at approximately 1 billion VND per course.
British University Vietnam
Since 2018, the British University Vietnam has been offering a Game Design and Programming program, with a degree awarded by Staffordshire University, using a curriculum and teaching quality equivalent to that of the awarding institution in the UK.
The program has become the optimal choice for young people passionate about creating cross-platform games, training students to become outstanding graduates, and being welcomed by leading companies in the industry.
The British University Vietnam admits students based on a selection process and requires meeting one of the following three criteria: achieving an average IELTS score of 4.5, with no skill below 4.0; completing the IELTS Foundation Program at the British University Vietnam; or having an Intermediate level English proficiency assessment result.
Hanoi University of Science and Technology
Hanoi University of Science and Technology currently does not offer a dedicated game development program, but if you wish to pursue this field, you can refer to the university's information on recruitment for the Information Technology program, specializing in Computer Science.
In 2024, the school plans to recruit students through three methods: talent-based admission, assessment of thinking skills, and high school graduation exam scores. For the method based on high school graduation exam scores, last year the cutoff score for admission to this major was 29.42 points (A00; A01).
