On the afternoon of July 3, Marca and BBC quoted sources saying that the Liverpool striker died in a traffic accident in Zamora, Spain. Witnesses at the scene said that the car carrying Jota and his brother Andre suddenly lost control, went off the road and burst into flames. When rescuers arrived, both had no chance of survival.
Before his death, in addition to being famous as a superstar "lucky to score" in big matches, Jota did not hide his love for video games. He was known as one of the best players in the EPL.

Jota played so well that he topped the global rankings of FIFA 21 , Ultimate Team mode.
“I would go 1-0, 2-0 or 3-0 up and some people would get bored and leave. But when they know they are playing against me, they stay and play the whole game. Sometimes it would end up 12-0 and I would get a bit bored,” the Liverpool striker boasted of his ability.
Not only is Diogo Jota a personal hobby, he is also involved in the eSports industry. He founded a team named after himself, then merged it with Galaxy Racer. To this day, the team still operates under the name Luna Galaxy. The organization has players competing in EA Sports FC (EA's predecessor FIFA ), Rocket League and Dota2 . They are an eSports powerhouse in the Middle East.
Diogo Jota’s departure came as a shock to Liverpool and Portugal fans alike, and is a huge loss for the growing eSports industry, which needs the involvement of influential figures from traditional sports to help it gain global traction.
