Farmers jokingly remarked, "The golden season has arrived, the people of the Mekong Delta are filling their pockets with gold..." This story of a successful harvest and high prices is not just a personal joy for the farmers; it's a bigger story: food security and social welfare for the region.

In some localities, the rice drying yards become bustling with activity, filled with the cheerful laughter and chatter of women working as rice harvesters.

This year, the abundant supply led to a drop in rice prices at times. However, following news that some countries are importing rice, prices have risen again.

The joy of a bountiful harvest and good prices brings happiness not only to the farmers, but also to the seasonal laborers.

The rice plants are transplanted, go through the stages of rooting, tillering, flowering... and then ripen to a golden yellow in the fields. The phrase "bountiful harvest" is associated with the joy, happiness, and contentment of farmers after three months of hard work, worry, and hoping for "favorable weather"... Unlike before, today's harvest season means farmers simply go to the fields to receive their rice. Harvesting is done by machines, and transportation is provided by motorized vehicles right to their homes; all they have to do is spread the rice out to dry. Many households sign contracts with businesses to sell their produce, selling fresh rice right at the field, happily receiving money to buy things and pay for their children's school fees at the beginning of the new school year. A bountiful harvest brings complete joy to the hardworking, resilient farmers who have persevered through hardship and difficulties, remaining dedicated to their fields and to farming, even though the profession still faces many challenges today.
