The year 2023 marked a memorable milestone in Thu Huyen's artistic career. She was one of the artists selected to participate in a working group to the Truong Sa archipelago.
Despite the arduous journey, the rough seas, and the seasickness, she was very happy to bring her singing to the remote islands to visit and encourage the soldiers who are on duty guarding the country's seas and skies, and the people on the islands.

“Upon arriving in Truong Sa, I felt the sacredness of Vietnam's sea and sky. I was deeply moved by the sacrifices of the young soldiers who are on duty guarding the islands. After the trip, I told myself that I must live in a way that is worthy of the sacrifices of the soldiers here,” Thu Huyen confided.
Towards the end of the year, she embarked on a tour to perform for Vietnamese expatriates celebrating the New Year in three European countries: the Czech Republic, Germany, and Hungary. The two-week trip was a great success. Along with her fellow artists Linh Hoa, Le Ngoc, and A Pao (Ngo Sy Ngoc), Bui Thu Huyen, with her strength in sweet and soulful folk songs, left a lasting impression on the expatriate audience.
The applause was deafening. Some audience members said they hadn't seen her in exactly 15 years since her last performance in the Czech Republic and still reminisced about their previous encounter.
Inspired by the emotions from that tour, upon returning to Hanoi , Bui Thu Huyen recorded and filmed the music video for "Tet Ve Voi Me" (Returning to Mother for Tet ). This song, composed by young musician Quang Hung and set to a poem by Phuong Thao, has a folk music feel and expresses the emotions of those who are far from home and unable to visit their families and parents during Tet.

Possessing a voice deeply rooted in folk music, coupled with her love and passion for music, Bui Thu Huyen quickly won numerous awards in provincial and national singing competitions.
At 18, she won first prize in the Hung Yen Provincial Singing Contest. That same year, Thu Huyen passed the entrance exam to the Vocal Music Department at the National Academy of Music. In 2007, Thu Huyen participated in and won second prize at the Sao Mai Television Singing Festival (held in Nha Trang, Khanh Hoa).
