Nguyen Minh Anh, a former student of the High School for Foreign Languages, has just excellently won a full scholarship from the Japanese Government (MEXT).
Before that, this girl born in 2005 had an impressive record of achievements: Near perfect score in the Japanese language proficiency test N1 (176/180), 8.0 IELTS, First prize in the contest to select excellent students at the University level. From footsteps early life in the "land of the rising sun"
Minh Anh shared that she was fortunate enough to have been exposed to Japan since she was more than a year old - when her family moved to the land of the rising sun because her father worked here. Her first steps on this land, the silly songs of her childhood taught by Japanese teachers... have become something special in Minh Anh.
And the fate of Japan again came to Minh Anh when she was in elementary school until preparing to enter middle school and also went to Japan with her parents to work.
Four years (from 5th to 8th grade) studying and living in Japan for Minh Anh were extremely meaningful, nurturing in her a love for the country and its people, thereby rekindling life's dreams. life.
Minh Anh said that he did not choose to go to an international school but chose a purely Japanese environment. Therefore, with not much Japanese knowledge, Minh Anh really had difficulty going to school, and sometimes he felt discouraged.
When they saw a Vietnamese student misspelling their name on the notebook label, the Japanese students corrected Minh Anh and taught Minh Anh in Japanese, making it even more difficult for the little girl to "understand". However, I feel very happy and warm.
In addition, the stories about Japan that I heard my father tell during meals and daily life helped the "Japaneseness" in me gradually grow from there, making me always curious about the country that emerged from the past. hardships of war and harsh nature to assert itself, becoming the country with the third largest economy in the world, admired by the whole world.
The road to the dream
At that time, when the future career was not really clear, Minh Anh always thought that he would stick with Japan and would do his best to be a bridge between the two countries Vietnam - Japan, not Because that's the path my father guided me to follow, and that's what my heart told me.
“Returning to Vietnam, my dominant thought was to build a route back to Japan on my own two feet, I wanted to write the story of being 18 years old - the most beautiful youth of my life there. Therefore, Japan is the dream, MEXT is the destination", Minh Anh shared.

To have a beautiful profile towards MEXT is an arduous journey that I always tell myself to "try 101% every day".
Not only do I have to continue on the path to conquering Japanese, I also have to pass important exams such as level transfer in Vietnam, according to Vietnam's curriculum.
Even though I had the advantage of having studied in Japan, the first days of returning to Vietnam to study my last year of middle school were really challenging as the knowledge of literature and math in Vietnam was many different from what I learned in Japan. On his first literature test, Minh Anh received a "round score of 2".
Thanks to his outstanding efforts and belief in his dream, Minh Anh successfully "passed the test" and entered 3 schools: Foreign Language Specialized High School, Hanoi - Amsterdam High School for Gifted Students and Chu Van An High School.
After that, Minh Anh chose a high school specializing in foreign languages and specialized Japanese classes to study. The journey to the MEXT scholarship really begins now.
The little girl set herself new goals and challenges, including passing the N1 exam - the highest level in the Japanese language proficiency exam, and achieving the best possible results in the IELTS exam.
Minh Anh not only tried to have a beautiful application, but Minh Anh also put a lot of effort into the essay about her plans and motivation to study abroad in Japan when applying for the MEXT scholarship.
With good Japanese skills, clear thinking and specific future plans, Minh Anh passed the application round. After that, I spent a lot of time studying for the written exam of the Japanese Embassy in Vietnam with three subjects: math (in Japanese), Japanese, and English. As a result, Minh Anh excellently passed the exam.
After passing the written exam, Minh Anh began to focus his best on the oral exam in both Japanese and English.

The end sweet
Finally, after months of endless efforts, Minh Anh burst into happiness when his name was called by the MEXT scholarship. That is probably the sweet "summary" for the dream I have chosen, the dream of becoming a bridge between the two countries Vietnam - Japan, as I stated in my essay.
“In Vietnam, I gained Vietnamese friendships, experienced culture, customs, understood more about the country and people of Vietnam, and from there loved my country more. "Vietnamese" quality or Japanese "quality" are both indispensable parts if you want to fully grasp your dream in your hands," the girl born in 2005 shared.
He couldn't hide his excitement about winning a scholarship and completing his set goals, but Minh Anh appeared quite calm, because he understood that life is a "race with many stages".
Studying at University under the MEXT scholarship program for a very long time, Minh Anh always determined to be independent in study and life.
“If my first steps in my life were my father leading me on the resilient land of Japan, and my dreams were also woven from the years I lived with my parents on that land, then now, on the journey When I come back, I walk on my own feet, my 18-year-old feet are mature enough and old enough to conquer my dreams," Minh Anh affirmed.
