This is a key event within the framework of MSD Vietnam's STEMherVN project, attracting nearly 200 female students from high schools, vocational schools, colleges, and universities in Ho Chi Minh City.
Sharing insights from a company with a large workforce in the engineering sector, Ms. Loan Tran from MiTek Vietnam spoke about the importance of women in fostering a high-efficiency and productive work environment: “At MiTek, 45% of our employees are women. This gender diversity in the workplace has greatly supported our business and innovation.”
Offering insightful perspectives on the job market, Ms. Luu Thanh Huyen, founder of VOCO Career Guidance Center, shared: “Vietnamese women have always been renowned for their admirable qualities and great potential in all fields, making very valuable contributions to economic development… Fortunately and encouragingly, the environment in Vietnam is quite egalitarian compared to other countries in the region, and therefore Vietnam is currently developing very well thanks to the participation of women in various fields.”
One of the highlights of the conference was the panel discussion "Vietnamese Female Students and Innovation in the Era of Empowerment." Pham Viet Thuy Trinh – STEMherVN Ambassador 2024, a third-year student majoring in Chemical Engineering Technology at the University of Science, Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City – shared her learning experiences, stating that even in STEM education environments, gender stereotypes remain a significant factor, causing female students to hesitate and be apprehensive about technical tasks where women are considered to have fewer advantages than men.
"While pursuing this field, I realized that outside opinions are not as important as my own actions. I need to be aware of who I am, what I can do, and what I need to do to improve," said Thuy Trinh.

Ms. Tran Van Anh, Deputy Director of the Institute for Sustainable Development Management Research (MSD), affirmed: “STEMherVN is an MSD initiative focused on promoting gender equality efforts in access to education and career guidance, specifically breaking down gender barriers that hinder women from accessing education and pursuing careers in STEM fields. To date, STEMherVN is not just an initiative; through the maturity, confidence, and proactiveness of the female ambassadors of the project in particular and female students in general, it is a testament to the fact that women can absolutely lead change in the digital age. We believe that when given equal opportunities to access STEM education and inspired, every female student can become an innovator, scientist, or engineer of the future. Today's conference is also a vivid testament to that belief – where knowledge, confidence, and pioneering spirit are ignited in every glance, smile, and aspiration.” "The dreams of these girls, along with the commitment and support of all stakeholders, are on the journey to realize the goal of promoting the role and participation of female students in the nation's burgeoning era."
