PC1: The aspiration for self-reliance contributes to national development.

On December 19th, in Ho Chi Minh City, the inauguration ceremony for the national power grid project supplying electricity to the Con Dao Special Economic Zone was solemnly held.

This event marks a significant milestone for Vietnam's electricity sector and is one of more than 234 outstanding national projects and works celebrating the 79th anniversary of the National Resistance Day (December 19, 1946 - December 19, 2025), the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam (2025-2030 term), and the 11th National Emulation Congress.

The national grid power supply project for Con Dao Special Economic Zone, invested by Vietnam Electricity Group (EVN) and with Project Management Board 3 (EVNPMB3) acting as the investor's representative, is one of the key national projects with a length of over 102.5km and a total investment of over 4,900 billion VND.

This is also the largest submarine cable project in Southeast Asia in terms of voltage level and scale. PC1 Group (PC1) is proud to have contributed its efforts and expertise to the execution of two important packages of the project: the EPC package for the 110kV submarine cable with a length of nearly 80km; and the PC package for the overhead submarine cable – items requiring high technical, technological, and organizational capabilities for construction.

Driven by the aspiration of Vietnamese private enterprises to master advanced technologies, PC1 has focused on large-scale, long-term, and in-depth investments; independently designing, manufacturing, and successfully operating many modern technological equipment and machinery such as: a cable-laying robot system capable of working efficiently at depths up to 50 meters from the sea surface - the first robot system in Vietnam designed, manufactured, and deployed by PC1; and a cable-protecting rock-laying vessel system with improved features that are most suitable for the topographical, geological, and hydrological conditions in Vietnam's waters.

The successful commissioning of the project has contributed to ensuring a safe, continuous, and stable electricity supply for the Con Dao Special Economic Zone, meeting the needs of socio-economic development, ensuring national defense and security, and improving the lives of the people. It replaces on-site diesel power generation sources, reduces electricity production costs, limits greenhouse gas emissions, and contributes to Vietnam's commitment to emission reduction and sustainable development.

This project demonstrates PC1's ability to master technology and organize implementation in large-scale, high-tech energy projects, constructed under complex and harsh conditions at sea. It represents a step towards reducing dependence on foreign contractors, moving towards technological self-reliance and developing sustainable energy infrastructure.

Thus, the National Grid Power Supply Project for Con Dao Special Economic Zone has become a landmark achievement for PC1 Group, reflecting its spirit of innovation, breakthroughs, and daring to conquer new limits. PC1 is committed to contributing its intellect and accompanying the country in confidently moving into a new era of development: "Self-reliant, Strong, and Prosperous."
