Singer Phan Dinh Tung has just posted an official announcement regarding the intellectual property dispute over the song 'Birthday Song' and several albums associated with his name.

On May 21st, singer Phan Dinh Tung attracted attention when he posted a lengthy announcement on his social media page, which has 795,000 followers, sharing that there is an ongoing intellectual property dispute related to the song "Khuc hat mung sinh nhat" (Birthday Song) and 5 albums.

In the statement, the singer said that he and his team had remained silent for a long time hoping that all issues would be resolved in good faith, respecting the truth and professional values. However, due to the prolonged dispute, his side decided to speak out to protect his legal rights and interests related to copyright, related rights, and intellectual property rights concerning the musical products that have been associated with his name for many years.

According to Phan Dinh Tung, there are currently differences between him and several individuals and organizations regarding the establishment, exploitation, and management of intellectual property rights for the aforementioned works. This has led to disputes over ownership, commercial exploitation rights, and revenue sharing on various international digital music platforms for an extended period.

Notably, the singer's side stated that advertising revenue generated from the music video "Happy Birthday Song" on his official YouTube channel was temporarily recorded for a related party by the platform and revenue distribution unit during the dispute.

The announcement stated that after a lengthy process of appeals, legal proceedings, and documentation, some related intellectual property rights have been restored. However, the case remains unresolved.

Phan Dinh Tung's side stated that they have repeatedly taken the initiative to communicate and respond via email, demonstrating a willingness to engage in dialogue in order to find a fair, civilized, and legally compliant solution. However, to date, key issues have yet to be resolved with a final agreement between the parties.

According to the announcement, revenue related to the aforementioned musical works is currently being temporarily held by several platforms and distribution systems pending a final conclusion from the competent authority or a legally binding ruling before being allocated to the rightful owners.

The male singer stated that he respects the right of the authorities to assess, review, and draw conclusions, and will continue to cooperate fully in accordance with the law to ensure the case is resolved objectively, transparently, and fairly.

"We remained silent for a long time because we always hoped that everything could be resolved in good faith and with mutual respect. However, given the prolonged nature of the case, we are forced to publicly release this information as an official announcement to protect our legitimate rights and interests," Phan Dinh Tung wrote in the post.

Phan Dinh Tung also stated that if the outstanding issues continue to go unresolved, he will take the necessary legal steps in accordance with regulations to protect his legitimate rights and interests at the competent authorities.

Speaking to us, Hi-N Entertainment, Phan Dinh Tung's management company, confirmed that the announcement on social media was posted by the singer himself.

Currently, Phan Dinh Tung's side has not revealed the specific individuals or organizations involved in the dispute. The incident is receiving attention from the public and the music industry.
