Concluding the program, Mr. Nguyen Duy Huy, Chairman of the People's Committee of Tri Qua Ward and Head of the Festival Steering Committee, along with Venerable Thich Thanh Son and singer Hoa Minzy, took a commemorative photo together, sharing their joy and connection with the large number of people and Buddhist followers who attended.

Dâu Pagoda, formerly part of the Dâu district, is located in Khương Tự village, Thanh Khương commune, Thuận Thành district, old Bắc Ninh province; now it is Khương Tự residential area, Trí Quả ward, Bắc Ninh province. The pagoda has several names in Chinese characters: Cổ Châu Temple, Pháp Vân Temple, Thiền Định Temple, and Diên Ứng Temple.

According to historical sources and inscriptions at the temple, Dau Pagoda is the oldest Buddhist temple in Vietnam, a place where two Buddhist cultures that were introduced into the country met: one from India and one from the North.

The temple was founded approximately 2,000 years ago, in the early 2nd century AD, in 187 AD and completed in 226 AD during the time of Shi Xie as governor, associated with the birth of the "Four Dharma" worship belief.

Despite enduring countless historical upheavals, Dau Pagoda has retained its ancient, moss-covered charm and remains a major Buddhist center in Vietnam.

In 1962, Dau Pagoda was recognized as a "National Historical Monument," and in 2013 it was recognized as a Special National Monument.

In 2017, the set of Four Dharma Buddha statues was recognized as a National Treasure. In 2024, the system of 107 wooden printing blocks from Dau Pagoda was further recognized as a National Treasure by the Prime Minister.

Currently, Dau Pagoda preserves many valuable documents and artifacts, such as stone steles, stone chimes, and bronze bells, recording the historical legends of Dau Pagoda and affirming its important role in the system of Vietnamese cultural and historical heritage.

Therefore, Dau Pagoda is honored as the "First Ancient Pagoda of Southern Vietnam," not only as the cradle of Buddhism in Vietnam but also as a sacred destination, attracting thousands of visitors from all over the world every year.

With its sacredness and legends, every year from the 6th to the 8th of April in the lunar calendar, coinciding with Buddha's Birthday, the people of the region eagerly organize the Dau region festival. This is a large and famous festival that has been immortalized in folk songs:

No matter where anyone goes or comes from

Whenever we see the Dâu pagoda tower, we return home.

No matter what trade one engages in,

"On the eighth of April, we return to the Mulberry Festival."
