Launching the International Painting Competition "Brilliant Vietnam"

The competition is organized by Art Space Association in collaboration with A2Z Art Gallery in Paris (France), with the support of many prestigious organizations and associations in many countries.

The theme “Brilliant Vietnam” focuses on tangible and intangible cultural heritages recognized by Vietnam. Works can be inspired by familiar symbols such as pho, Ha Long Bay, Hue royal court music, Dong Ho paintings or water puppetry...

According to the Organizing Committee, the contest is not only an opportunity for young people to demonstrate their painting skills, but also a journey to discover and learn about the historical and cultural values ​​of the place where they live.

The drawing contest is divided into 2 age groups: Under 12 years old and from 12 to 17 years old, regardless of nationality and place of residence. The deadline for submitting entries is from February 20 to April 20, 2025 at the reception system across 5 continents. The results of the contest are expected to be announced in early June 2025.

The Organizing Committee will award 20 prizes, each age group will have 1 First Prize, 3 Second Prizes, 6 Third Prizes. All 20 winning paintings will be displayed at the A2Z Art Gallery in Paris from July 8 to July 13, 2025. In addition, the Jury will select 100 paintings to be exhibited in 3 major cities in France: Paris, Nantes and Lorient from June 21 to July 6, 2025.

From the beginning of June 2025, paintings submitted to the competition, if meeting the requirements of the organizing committee regarding size, material and theme, will be displayed in an online exhibition at www.toucherarts.com .

The Organizing Committee invited artists and painters from many countries to be judges for the competition, including: Painter Pham Binh Chuong, lecturer at the University of Fine Arts; artists Anthony Phuong and Ziwei Phuong, members of the Council of Experts on Artworks in France; Myanmar painter Nge Lay living and working in France; artist Thao Nguyen, a photographer and translator, currently living and working in France.

Artist Pham Binh Chuong, a member of the jury, shared: “When I was invited to be a judge for the painting contest "Brilliant Vietnam", I was very excited because this is an opportunity to explore how young people feel about the country I love through the lens of art”.

Mr. Anthony Phuong said: “I am of Vietnamese origin, born in Ho Chi Minh City. Although I moved to France very early, the country and culture of Vietnam always hold an important place in my heart. I accepted to be a judge for the painting contest “Brilliant Vietnam” and also joined the organizing committee, partly because I was very impressed with Vietnamese artists, but the main reason is that I want to support and encourage young Vietnamese artistic talents to enter the global art stage”.

The painting competition and exhibition series “Brilliant Vietnam” in France promises to tell the world unique stories about the cultural heritages that Vietnamese people want to preserve and promote, through a creative and unique painting language.
