On the afternoon of February 3rd (the 6th day of the Lunar New Year of the Year of the Snake), in the area along both sides of the Phu Anh to Van Bridge road in Dong Khe commune ( Thanh Hoa City), the People's Committee of Thanh Hoa province organized the launching ceremony of the "Tree Planting Festival to Forever Remember Uncle Ho" for the Spring of the Year of the Snake 2025.

Upholding the fine tradition of "Spring is the time for planting trees/Making the country ever more vibrant," Thanh Hoa province has always considered planting trees as an important task, closely linked to the comprehensive development of the province, not only for today but also for future generations.

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Duc Giang inaugurated the launching ceremony of the "Tree Planting Festival in Eternal Gratitude to Uncle Ho" in the Spring of the Year of the Snake 2025.

Every year, as Tet (Lunar New Year) approaches, the people of Thanh Hoa province enthusiastically participate in tree planting and reforestation. The goal set for the "Tree Planting Festival" in the Spring of the Year of the Snake (2015) was to plant over 3 million trees throughout the province, more than double the 2020 target, in accordance with the Prime Minister 's directive No. 45/CT-TTg dated December 31, 2020. According to statistics, the province has currently developed 647,000 hectares of forest, with forest cover reaching 53.75% in 2024 (11.73% higher than the national average). The area of ​​newly planted, cared for, and protected forests consistently exceeds the set plan each year.

Based on the objectives and significance of tree planting and reforestation activities, at the launching ceremony, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Duc Giang called on and requested Party committees at all levels, sectors, and localities to strive to complete and exceed the assigned socio -economic development targets in the province; to complete and excellently complete the 2025 forestry development plan, focusing on effectively implementing the Project to plant 1 billion trees according to the Prime Minister's Decision. He urged all people to participate in tree planting and reforestation, maintaining and effectively implementing the emulation movement: "Everyone plants trees, every household plants trees, the whole population plants trees and forests" in conjunction with socio-economic development and environmental protection.
