Promoting the spirit of 'mutual support and compassion' during Humanitarian Month.

On the morning of April 25th, the Thai Nguyen Provincial Red Cross Society held a ceremony to launch the 2025 Humanitarian Month and commemorate International Red Cross and Red Crescent Day (May 8th). Attending the program were: Ms. Mai Thi Thuy Nga, Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Council; Mr. Nguyen Linh, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; representatives from various departments, agencies, and localities; and a large number of organizations, individuals, and philanthropists.

Over the years, Thai Nguyen province has been one of the localities that effectively implemented the Humanitarian Month. In 2024 alone, Red Cross branches at all levels in the province provided assistance to over 159,000 people in difficult circumstances, with a total value of over 119 billion VND. Many practical models were implemented, such as: supporting house construction, creating livelihoods, giving gifts to poor students, caring for elderly people living alone, organizing voluntary blood donation, providing free medical examinations, treatment and medicine…

The 2025 Humanitarian Month, organized with the message "Humanitarian Journey - Giving and Receiving Love," aims to support over 3,000 vulnerable people through appropriate forms of assistance. Alongside this, the province will launch the "Million Steps of Compassion - Continuing the Golden Chapter" campaign, striving to attract 1,000 participants in an online walk/run, conquering 15,000km, to raise approximately 150 million VND in humanitarian funds. Each district and city in the province will mobilize agencies and units to support the livelihoods of at least 3 poor households or those with particularly difficult circumstances, with a minimum support level of 15 million VND per household…

The 2025 Humanitarian Month will run from March 1st to May 31st, with two peak weeks from May 8th to May 19th – commemorating the 135th anniversary of the birth of President Ho Chi Minh , the founder and first Honorary President of the Vietnam Red Cross Society. This is not just an annual campaign, but also a journey connecting benevolent hearts, instilling faith and hope in those facing hardship.

At the launching ceremony of the 2025 Humanitarian Month, the Organizing Committee received donations from 65 organizations and individuals totaling nearly 3.2 billion VND. On this occasion, sponsors provided support for the construction of 10 humanitarian houses, livelihood support for 10 families, identified humanitarian needs, and donated bicycles to 17 students in extremely difficult circumstances; they also donated teaching equipment to several schools in disadvantaged areas of the province…
