Implementing the Domestic Market Development Project in conjunction with the "Vietnamese People Prioritize Using Vietnamese Goods" campaign has contributed to changing people's consumption habits towards prioritizing Vietnamese goods, leading to a larger market share of Vietnamese goods consumed in the province. This has helped to curb inflation, stabilize the macroeconomy , ensure a balance between supply and demand, especially for essential goods, and guarantee social welfare.
Over 80% of the goods sold at GO! Viet Tri Supermarket are Vietnamese products.
Implementing the "Vietnamese People Prioritize Using Vietnamese Goods" campaign, all levels, sectors, and socio -political organizations have intensified propaganda efforts to positively change the community's perception of Vietnamese goods and services. This shows that not only consumers but also businesses, entrepreneurs, and all segments of the population in the province have had a positive impact on their sense of responsibility in producing and consuming Vietnamese goods. Many businesses have focused on improving product quality, design, packaging, and pricing to be competitive with imported goods.
Mr. Kieu Quang Dat, Human Resources Director of Takao Granite Joint Stock Company, Thanh Uyen commune, Tam Nong district, said: “The company, established more than 3 years ago with its main products being ceramic tiles and glazed roof tiles, has initially built a foundation and a foothold in the industry. To ensure products meet consumer tastes, the company has researched, applied, and operated a modern production line to produce safe products that meet the maximum requirements and are in line with user trends. Recently, the company was honored to receive the “Top 5 Famous National Brands of 2024” award selected by the Vietnam Institute for Patent Development and Technological Innovation. Thanks to this, the company now has nearly 200 distributors across all 63 provinces and cities nationwide.”
To ensure Vietnamese goods have the necessary conditions to dominate the market in the province in particular, the country in general, and to aim for export, the Department of Industry and Trade always pays attention to and focuses on implementing communication and promotion programs for Vietnamese businesses' products and goods, providing information on market developments and prices of essential goods, and creating opportunities for businesses to promote their products and goods through mass media. It supports the establishment of fixed Vietnamese product sales points under the "Proud of Vietnamese Goods" program. In 2024, it supported the establishment of 5 Vietnamese product sales points under the name "Proud of Vietnamese Goods, the Quintessence of Vietnamese Goods" in the districts of Thanh Son, Yen Lap, Doan Hung, Tan Son, and Ha Hoa. Maintaining the operation of the Phu Tho Provincial E-commerce Exchange (giaothuong.net.vn) is one of the reliable addresses helping businesses promote their products to consumers. To date, the platform has over 330 booths offering more than 1,000 products and services.
Currently, the province's commercial infrastructure has seen remarkable development, with a rapid increase in the number of shopping centers, supermarkets, and convenience stores, meeting the growing demand for shopping and consumption. Vietnamese goods now account for a significant proportion of products in the province's supermarkets, maintaining over 80% of Vietnamese products on display in supermarkets and convenience stores. Market management continues to be strengthened, contributing positively to combating smuggling, commercial fraud, counterfeit goods, substandard goods, and illegal business practices, creating a transformation in the management of product quality in the market and protecting the rights of consumers, producers, and businesses selling Vietnamese goods.
According to Mr. Dang Viet Phuong, Deputy Director of the Department of Industry and Trade, to continue effectively implementing the Project on developing the domestic market associated with the "Vietnamese people prioritize using Vietnamese goods" campaign, the Department of Industry and Trade will continue to proactively coordinate with the Steering Committee of the campaign in Phu Tho province, relevant sectors, organizations, and associations... to strengthen and diversify forms of propaganda about the campaign. It will regularly monitor market developments, ensure a balance between supply and demand, and facilitate the circulation of goods; implement trade promotion activities, seek new markets; connect businesses, build brands, and apply information technology, especially e-commerce, to production and business activities.
Furthermore, developing a stable and sustainable goods distribution system will enhance the competitiveness of Vietnamese goods and businesses. Effective market inspection and control, combating smuggling, trade fraud, and counterfeit goods, and promoting awareness among businesses about their roles and responsibilities related to product quality and consumer rights are crucial. The development of modern commercial infrastructure and logistics systems will be accelerated to reduce costs and improve the competitiveness of Vietnamese goods.
