On December 12th, in an interview with Tien Phong newspaper , Mr. Le Minh Tri, Head of the Education and Training Department of Ca Mau City, Ca Mau province, stated that the Department had just held a meeting to instruct the Principal of Nguyen Dinh Chieu Primary School (Ward 8) to review the contract for supplying food and meals for the school's students, following complaints from parents.

The Ca Mau City Department of Education has instructed the leadership of Nguyen Dinh Chieu Primary School to prioritize providing nutritious meals for its students. If necessary, they should renegotiate food supply contracts with relevant parties.

The Department of Education and Training of Ca Mau City also directed the principals and management boards of schools in the area to increase their responsibility in managing and organizing boarding programs, especially in the area of meals for students.

Previously, some parents with children attending Nguyen Dinh Chieu Primary School complained that the quality of the school lunch provided to their children was substandard, noting that their children were losing weight and finding the food unappetizing.

Upon investigation, parents discovered that the school's lunch meal consisted only of rice, taro soup with meat, and duck meat braised in coconut milk. However, the duck meat portion was very small, and there were only a few small pieces of taro in the soup.

Previous photos taken by parents also showed a similar situation. The children's lunch consisted only of fried eggs and pumpkin soup with shrimp, and the portions were very modest. Therefore, parents are worried about their children's health with the meals provided by the school.

The principal of Nguyen Dinh Chieu Primary School, Nguyen Kim Hoi, said that the school had received feedback from parents about the quality of the meals and had also worked with the supplier. The supplier of these meals is the Ca Mau Guest House.
