On the morning of June 1st, over 57,000 candidates in Phu Tho province officially began the first subject of the entrance exam for 10th grade in high schools and continuing education programs for the 2026-2027 school year. This is the largest-scale exam ever held in the province after the merger of Phu Tho, Vinh Phuc, and Hoa Binh provinces.

This year, Tran Phu High School alone has 485 candidates taking the exam in 21 examination rooms. Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Khac Hieu acknowledged and highly appreciated the proactive approach of the education sector in preparing for the exam, especially in advising on adjusting the method of registering for university admissions in a way that expands opportunities for students.
Increasing the number of preferences gives candidates more options to choose from that match their abilities, while also ensuring fairness and objectivity in the admissions process.

According to the leaders of Phu Tho province, the Provincial Examination Steering Committee had developed a plan early on and held numerous meetings to review the conditions for organizing the exam. Professional training for officials and teachers involved in all stages of the exam, from question setting and printing to invigilation, was conducted seriously and systematically.
Besides requiring strict adherence to exam regulations, invigilators were also instructed to create a relaxed and friendly atmosphere to help candidates perform at their best. Before the exam, provincial leaders encouraged the students to remain calm and confident, carefully read the questions, and take time to review their answers before submitting them.
To ensure the safety of the exam, police, inspectors, medical personnel, and other functional units were fully deployed at the examination sites to manage traffic flow, maintain security and order, and support candidates. Volunteer youth teams participating in the "Exam Support Campaign" also actively guided candidates to their exam rooms, provided drinking water, and offered encouragement before the exam.
