On October 28th, the 2023 National Athletics Championships concluded after five days of exciting competition. The Army's athletics team secured first place overall in this year's competition.
On the final day of competition, many exciting events took place, resulting in fierce competition. In the men's 10,000m final, the trio of Nguyen Van Lai (Army), Do Quoc Luat (Army), and Nguyen Anh Tri ( Hau Giang ) competed fiercely for the coveted gold medal. At the end of the competition, Nguyen Van Lai emerged victorious, while Do Quoc Luat finished second and Nguyen Anh Tri came in third.
The final day saw a new national record set by the familiar face of Phan Thanh Bình (Ho Chi Minh City). In the men's discus throw, Phan Thanh Bình won the Gold Medal, breaking his own national record with a performance of 50.78m (the old record was 48.64m).

The women's 400m hurdles final this year held no surprises, with Nguyen Thi Huyen (Nam Dinh) winning the championship with a time of 1'00"08. Nguyen Thi Ngoc ( Ha Tinh ) won the silver medal with a time of 1'01"02.
In the women's 4x800m relay, the Nam Dinh team won the Gold Medal with a time of 8'51"93, thus fulfilling their target of 4 Gold Medals. In the men's 4x800m relay, the Dong Nai team won the championship with a time of 7'42"33.
Concluding the competition, the Army team successfully defended their top position overall with 8 Gold medals, 9 Silver medals, and 3 Bronze medals, exceeding the set target (7 Gold medals, 3 Silver medals, and 6 Bronze medals).
The Hanoi team ranked second with 6 gold medals, 12 silver medals, and 9 bronze medals. The Ho Chi Minh City team ranked third with 5 gold medals, 2 silver medals, and 6 bronze medals. The teams from Da Nang, Nam Dinh, Ha Tinh, and the People's Police followed in the rankings.
