Promoting the image of Ca Mau's land and people.

After implementing the One Commune One Product (OCOP) program, not only have local branded goods been enriched, but jobs and stable incomes have also been created for rural people. In particular, when products are certified as meeting OCOP standards, opportunities to increase value and expand markets are clearly opened up.

Kieu Hanh Dried Seafood Production Facility (Vinh Loi commune) currently has 5 OCOP products that have achieved 3-star certification: dried snakehead fish, dried goby fish, dried catfish, dried shrimp, and tamarind fish sauce. The facility has effectively utilized readily available local raw materials to develop its products, invested in improving packaging and design, and implemented a closed-loop production process to ensure food safety and hygiene, with the goal of upgrading its products to 4-star OCOP certification in the near future.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Cam Tu, representative of the establishment, shared: “Since our products were recognized as meeting OCOP standards, the number of customers has increased significantly. Consumers are increasingly trusting and preferring products with clear origins and guaranteed quality. Currently, our products are available in many provinces and cities such as Hanoi , Ho Chi Minh City, and the Mekong Delta provinces, helping to increase income and create stable jobs for local workers.”

Ngoc Minh Bird's Nest Facility (Vinh Hau commune) also affirms its quality with its processed bird's nest products achieving OCOP 4-star standard . After nearly 10 years of operation, the facility has continuously innovated its production process, invested in modern machinery, and strictly adhered to food safety and hygiene standards. In addition, the facility actively participates in trade promotion activities, fairs, and supply-demand connections to expand its market both within and outside the province.

Ms. Pham Thi My, the owner of the establishment, expressed: “Participating in the OCOP Program not only helps the establishment improve product quality but also provides an opportunity to promote and introduce products to a wide range of consumers. Through trade fairs and networking programs, we can reach many potential customers, thereby gradually building our own bird's nest brand.”

Over the years, the OCOP program has not only contributed to economic development but also served as an effective channel to promote the image of Ca Mau's land and people. Each OCOP product tells a cultural story, a unique characteristic of the region, contributing to spreading local values ​​to friends both domestically and internationally.

To date, the province has 352 OCOP-certified products from 173 businesses. Of these, 273 products are rated 3 stars, 77 are rated 4 stars, and 2 products (refined salt and granulated salt from Bac Lieu) have achieved 5-star OCOP status. This is clear evidence of the efforts of individuals, groups, and functional agencies in elevating the status of local agricultural products.

With the support of the government and the proactive participation of the people, the OCOP program will continue to be an important driving force for Ca Mau to improve product quality, expand consumer markets, and thereby contribute to building a sustainable, culturally rich, and comprehensively developed new rural area.
