Quang Binh Provincial Leaders Respond to the Movement "Tet Tree Planting to Forever Remember Uncle Ho" in 2025
According to reports from the authorities, in 2024, Quang Binh province planted 11,405 hectares of forest, exceeding 27% of the plan; completed planting 2,101 million trees according to the 1 billion trees project, exceeding 13.3% of the plan. The output of exploited forest wood reached 810,946 m³, exceeding 62% of the target; the import and export value of wood products reached 35.4 million USD... With this result, tree planting has brought practical value, not only contributing to beautifying the environmental landscape but also bringing value in economic development, combating environmental pollution and climate change.
Currently, Quang Binh province is considered a locality with large forest coverage nationwide and has practical results in promoting economic development, so tree planting and forest protection are given attention and are highly effective.
Identifying the important role in developing the forest economy, the leaders of Quang Binh province regularly inspect and urge the grassroots to implement instructions to protect natural forests and have specific directions to promote economic development from forests for localities where ethnic minorities live and create directions to help develop tourism ...
Some localities in Quang Binh province have planned to exploit the economy under the canopy of primary forests and planted forests to create livelihoods for people, especially exploiting experiential tourism with discoveries of primary forests in Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park (Bo Trach) or Dong Chau - Khe Nuoc Trong Nature Reserve (Le Thuy).
Mr. Doan Ngoc Lam, Vice Chairman of Quang Binh Provincial People's Committee shared: The value of afforestation and forest protection, especially natural forests, has helped people in disadvantaged areas and mountainous areas to develop their economies based on forests. Many tourist spots and routes have been effectively exploited, bringing high economic value, so Quang Binh province is determined to increase forest coverage through planting trees to cover bare land, bare hills and in planned areas to help people develop their economies.
Leaders of Quang Binh province visited and encouraged the Forest Protection force, who are on duty day and night to protect the "green lungs" in localities in the province.
"We do not only plant trees to create forests, but also protect the "green lungs" which is extremely necessary because reality shows the economic efficiency of planting and protecting forests. Now, people in difficult areas have seen the efficiency of the forest economy, so in many areas, people and authorities are joining hands to protect and develop forests, which is a good sign," Mr. Doan Ngoc Lam affirmed.
Since the launch of the movement "Tet tree planting to forever remember Uncle Ho" in Quang Binh province, all levels and classes of people have responded strongly and actively participated. Currently, Tet tree planting has become a cultural beauty of the whole community and created green roads in urban areas, concentrated residential areas, cultural and historical relics; planting trees in the premises of agencies, industrial clusters, schools, hospitals, around houses, around gardens, along roads, along river banks, canal banks, hilly areas...
