After more than a decade of organization, the Red Journey has become the largest voluntary blood donation campaign in Vietnam. The program is a widespread communication activity aimed at calling on the entire society to promote the spirit of compassion and participate in donating blood to save lives.
In response to the program, Quang Binh province has organized 10 blood donation drives to date, achieving many positive results. Specifically, from the beginning of 2024 to the present, the entire province has received 5,600 units of blood, exceeding 50% of the annual target.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Tran Hai Chau, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Quang Binh Provincial Party Committee, acknowledged and welcomed the Red Journey program, affirming that the program is a testament to the nation's fine tradition of mutual support and compassion.

To ensure the sustainability of voluntary blood donation campaigns in the province and to promptly serve emergency and treatment needs for patients, the Standing Deputy Secretary of the Quang Binh Provincial Party Committee requested that all levels, sectors, and localities strengthen propaganda efforts to create consensus and support for blood donation, especially in disadvantaged areas; create the most favorable conditions for volunteers and the public to participate in blood donation; and promptly reward and honor exemplary units and individuals in promoting and participating in voluntary blood donation.
Immediately after the opening ceremony, the Steering Committee for Voluntary Blood Donation in Quang Binh province organized the "Quang Binh - Compassion in a Drop of Blood" blood donation festival at the Cultural, Sports and Communication Center of Bo Trach district and the Department of Biochemistry-Hematology-Blood Transfusion, Vietnam-Cuba Friendship Hospital in Dong Hoi.
Despite the return of hot weather today, volunteers from various localities in Quang Binh province arrived at the designated locations early this morning to volunteer for blood donation to save lives. As a result, the organizing committee collected 867 units of blood, including 528 units in Bo Trach district and 329 units at the Vietnam-Cuba Friendship Hospital in Dong Hoi, contributing to the blood supply for patients receiving emergency care and treatment at hospitals throughout the province.
