At the exchange session, speaking about the book " Curvy Eats Curved, Straight Eats Straight," Ms. Vu Minh Hoa said: "The joy I have now comes from my determination never to give up on helping my children overcome the teenage crisis, because I know that if I give up, my children will find it difficult to overcome the alluring temptations that constantly surround young people. Sometimes, parents also have to change. It doesn't matter who our children are. If we know enough, know how to adapt, and know how to love, we will be happy."

Commenting on the book, Dr. Tran Thi Thu Hien, Deputy Head of the Department of Gender and Development - Vietnam Women's Academy, said: “I highly appreciate the meaningful choice of topic on gender, in which LGBT gender needs to be respected. We should not discriminate, nor make any form of comparison with gender.”

"The book 'Curvy Eats Curved, Straight Eats Straight - A Diary of Overcoming the Shock of Puberty' mentions two changes: one is the psychophysiological change of puberty, and the other is the change in sexuality. The book touches the hearts of every parent and every reader."

"Deep down, it's a message of love being conveyed: It doesn't matter who your child is, their gender doesn't matter, what matters most is whether your child truly becomes a good citizen, someone who knows how to contribute," added Dr. Tran Thi Thu Hien.

With 135 pages, the book is written in the form of a diary by a mother, who is also the author, recounting the stories of her two sons with experiences that most families with children going through puberty can likely relate to. The hope is that it will help parents empathize better, gain more experience, and acquire the skills to guide their children through the challenges of adolescence.

Through this book, author Vu Minh Hoa, a single mother with an older son who is part of the LGBT community, wants to spread a message to parents: happiness is simply knowing that their children live virtuous and healthy lives.
